Era PC in relations to Era iPhone

So with iEra out has there been any recent incline on player count for PC? Another question has PC Era been abandoned by dev staff D: or is there positive hope for the future PC version?

From my own experience on what is merely an Under Construction server you'll certainly get a hefty amount of new visitors, I would also suggest writing up a pre-saved reply to copy & paste from to prepare for countless people asking "can i b admin".

it's quite sad that the iphone version of graal has more players than the pc version, and the pc version has been around for years and years.

Not really. There is no central database of computer games that people can search and find games(easily). Graal doesn't advertise at all, so the only way you find out about Graal is if you randomly stumble upon it or someone tell you about it(many people seem to be embarassed about the fact they play Graal).

On the other hand Graal on the iPod touch is placed in a list of games that people can go through. And it's free(Classic was), and people often go through the list of free games. It pretty much advertises itself.

Oh, and PC Graal has some insane prices that can immediately turn people off.

you're disagreeing with me when you just backed my point up :P I'm trying to say that it's sad because the PC version should have just as much advertising and cost efficiency as the iPhone version since it's been around for so much longer.

I'm disagreeing with trying to compare the two on level ground when they have a much different background, not with the fact that it is a sad situation for us.

Graal has been around for quite a long time. I feel like there should have been a lot more improvements in the game engine, content, popularity, and reasonable prices given such a time span.

Instead, it has done nothing but go downhill and now the same game on a phone is more popular than it's original version. To me, that seems so backwards.

Graal on the PC needed to be maintained and advertised, and the price didn't help. Then comes the iPhone. Stefan does a little porting(and I think only a little, as I vaguely remember him saying it didn't take much to get it running on the iPhone), uploads it with an empty overworld that they worked on for 2 weeks(literally) and BAM, the rest does itself. iPhone Classic managed itself, and apparently players are easily satisfied.

This doesn't surprise me. I just wish there was more effort being made towards the PC version because there's a lot of potential.

I'm pretty sure its called Angry Birds because the Birds are either Angry that you are using them to destroy buildings, or Angry enough that they are trying to destroy buildings

Graal's actually gone through some pretty huge improvements, you've probably just only played Era, which is and always has been cursed.

Any server staff should be prepared to answer a question or direct someone to somebody else who can answer it regardless of their specific role, it may be tedious in this case but it generally works out better to make someone understand why they cannot "b admin" as opposed to just ignoring them, that usually just splits it into multiple questions of "can i b lat", "can i b faq", "can i b gp", "can i b et" and it just gets worse.

It depends on who is asking the question.

If the question is literally "can i b admin" or "y cant i be admin" then no, it is not a staff member's job to waste time answering such a simple-minded fool. If you can't take the time to formulate a proper question (including decent grammar), I can't take the time to answer it.

If someone approached me with a coherent question, such as "Greetings, I was wondering if you were hiring [x position] now or in the current future?" or "Where would I look for hiring/staff information?" Then, yes, an answer pointing them towards the hiring opportunities list would be appropriate and necessary. However, answering typical idiot questions so prevalent on Graal really accomplishes nothing. We all know why those people want to be administrators. Taking them seriously is a waste of both their time and yours.

At the very least, the cold harsh reality of your silent backhand will demand serious changes in grammar and their attitude before they get a question answered. You're helping them while also helping yourself.

Ideally yes people would formulate proper questions with decent grammar but the reality of it is that in ignoring it or demanding improvement to the question it is only prolonging the irritation, when like you say you already know what their intentions are and that they are only going to be wasting your time, I just try to get it over with quickly without acting indecently over it.

A cold and harsh attitude will create a cold and harsh community, because attitudes are infections. I don't want a cold and harsh community in a game (or in real life for that matter).

If you take people seriously, then they act seriously. If you treat them like a troll, a joke, or a nuisance, that is exactly how they will act, both at that point and in the future.

I'll stick to answering questions.
