That should always be the last option, and only when members show they will not follow the rules. Just because a person can ban others, does not mean it should be used often.

They have full right to, they've been here, and pretty much run the place. Behave and impress them and you'll earn your keep.

Actually, these forums belong to all members of Graal, both old and new. New members deserve just as much respect as older members. There is no initiation into the forums.

I say thats nothin but a welcome dose of reality. The society beyond graal gets 10x worse than that.

I saw his thread and didnt even bother posting because I already knew me telling him that he would be a completely failure wouldn't help him succeed at all.

Why not give someone constructive pointers to help them succeed? That is what Graal is seriously lacking.
More people might succeed, if more people would bother trying to help, or just say nothing if they have nothing constructive to say, instead of jumping all over them.
Not everyone will succeed of course, but more people might, and maybe not so many people will give up because, who wants to do anything for a community who is negative.

Then again, who wants to do anything for a community that is full of these old kids who stick together and say "hey, we oldbies. WE like gang. WE own place ya? ok shut up let us talk"

I don't see any oldbies getting permanently banned, if they've played since 2001, do you really think a 7 day ban will get into their heads?

Not really.

I see better behavior on freaking UN then on these forums, and the UN kids aren't even old enough to be playing graal.

If you really are doing something about this, and MAYBE somehow you are, and they're just doing all of it under your nose, stuff like that happens.

I'll drop it now, before this Kia kid believes I'm an emo ;(
I am constantly doing something about it, as well as Sam, but some will continue, and you will never be able to get rid of it. All we can do is keep inforcing the rules, and keep it at a minimum. If we weren't doing something about it, these forums would be so much worse, trust me.
It is up to the people in the community to change in this area. It is the only way it will get better.

You don't see everything, and like I said, banning is a last result.

Sigh....it does no good to insult those who insult others. It's all the same in the end, just needles insults that destroy a community driven forum.

Community driven? Now that's quite a load of monkey turd ;(

The only thing this community does is enjoy fighting with one another over who's the oldest, the best, or the one who deserves the win in the topic

The entire community does not think that way, but a lot do.
Your posts are not showing you to be any different.
Like I said before, insults are insults, whether it be insulting new members, or old.

Look, the members of Graal, for a large part, are very competitive. This creates a lot of insults, arguing, etc...
Should it be this way? No, but there is little we can do besides keep inforcing the rules, and hope some will stop.

Origonal Quote which interested me.

Should graalians arugue and fight and insult one another? YES.

Why? Because without that, this game wouldnt be worth what you have to pay for it, over half the novelty is logging on and pissing some random people off because they cant stand their 2d avatar being talked down to.

Maybe the colors are wrong, the hat is ugly, they look all dark and emo, they suck at events, they suck period. They have 5000 hours, they cant pk worth a damn, who cares.

Telling people how bad they suck and watching them flip out like your opinion is the only one that matters even though they say it dosent is awesome

I love it.

I am talking about the forums. New people should be able to come here for help, advice, constructive critisism, but they can't do that without getting talked down to, and attacked.

That isn't the intention of the game though and is certainly not why I or many many other people play it. I'm sorry that you have such aggressive tendencies, but in all honesty, people I see doing what you say you do just cause the first thought in my mind to be one of a child (around the age of say 12 or so) who knows nothing of life, the world or how to co-exist in it. What is this called? Immaturity, my friend.

Now don't take me the wrong way, I'm not trying to insult you but I'm rather trying to point out that me (and I'm sure many other people) don't play Graal for what you call fun and that such behaviour should really be looked down upon by the entire Graal public.

Sure you can act that way, but it doesn't (or shouldn't) warrant any kind of respect from other mature individuals.

Yes, we know why he did it.
The question is, why wasn't he allowed to do so before being ragged on by everyone? Then being laughed at, "haha, you wasted your money on a new account, we wouldn't let you try to start over again!"

it is also common sense to not attack people on the forums just because you don't like the way they post, or they don't follow the rules. It is common sense that the moderators can deal with these issues, and the members do not need to flame them.

How about giving some examples of that happening? These are the Graal forums and we will take advantage of almost any opportunity to take each other on, but "oldbies" aren't somehow immune to having this happen to them. Your signup date means a bit, but it doesn't mean much. The "group" that you're in (staff "group", Kaimetsu "group", chaos propagating "group", etc.) is way more important than how long you've been around.

"I don't like the thread" is not a valid reason for closing it. "Raven doesn't like the thread" isn't one either. Nor is "the thread is going nowhere" (and just what, exactly, does a thread that's going "somewhere" look like?) This discussion does not violate any rules.

There is no war here, unless you have brought it.

Fair enough, I agree as far as this goes.

I dont play to agitate people, although I find it a bonus that some people take little things in a game so seriously. (Telling someone for example, how bad they suck at an event, will eventually show some funny results).

What is this called? Immaturity, my friend.
There is nothing wrong with being immature and having fun some of the time, and I guarantee my actions on the game dont reflect my actions in real life, so I dont know how you could make the comparison.

that such behaviour should really be looked down upon by the entire Graal public.
And at the end of the day Myself and People such as myself, who play the game to have fun, and do have fun, will continue to do as we do. If people look down on it, thats fine, thats why Games come with an ignore feature and a GP Team. As long as im keeping it within respectable bounds then what is the problem?

Sure you can act that way, but it doesn't (or shouldn't) warrant any kind of respect from other mature individuals.
I find myself to be a highly respectable individual when the situation warrants it, and I dont instigate with people to get respect as ive said before, its just funny when you do some things to watch the reactions of people, such as below.

Thats cool I dont remember saying I was here for your approval, or asking you what you thought, because I could care less. I promise I wont get any less sleep because someone dosent like me.

Actually you should probably take a number and get in line, other people were here first, no cuts.

+ this game is still more or less for kids. So you can't expect anyone to behave mature in these forums.

Hey, I myself admitted I sucked at those events, so if you would have said so as well, I probably wouldn't have been TOO offended.

I'm going to ignore the random drama/flamewar/whatever because it's boring.

All I can say is that every forum should take a page out of SA's book and ban people for any sign of stupidity.

Yeah but you have to admit, when I got you in charge, you were PISSED.

I even ran into the other room cause I could just imagine you sitting there screaming at your screen and I didnt want to instigate any further but you followed me and let me have it rofl.
