Zol's Toilet Quest Released

The long awaited first dungeon-style Quest of Classic is finally released!

As with the previously released set of content simply talk to Master Li to begin, this Quest also sees the introduction of some basic Gelat circulation as Gelats are now dropped whenever a player is killed by another player (except for within Spar/PK/Event zones etc), when a player dies within a Quest or as a result of being killed by a baddy, or an item dropping baddy is killed (which there is a 10% chance of dropping Gelat, however this only does it up to a particular point).

This Quest also marks the introduction of Tears of Hera, however this system will be more on the lines of Zelda with them acting as Heart Quarters as opposed to the amount required to obtain a full heart growing by one each time.

The more immediate prize is a Beer Mug where Mugs actually have to be obtained in order to re-fill them with Beer although Beer has been significantly improved, instead of drinking a whole one at a time they are drunk a quarter at a time, reconnecting to remove the drunk effect having used it to heal also can no longer be done as drunkness would be re-applied by the server.

Be sure to set a Save Point by using a nearby bed.

I believe I had a total of 25000 beers on Classic. Could I have them returned please?

not gonna lie the quest got on my nerves

everything about it is annoying - the lighting is crap on this cheap TN panel monitor im using, the rats are annoying and combo you down easily if you're not being careful (they also seem to love door laming me or so it feels like), and there's no sense of direction.

the boss is incredibly boring. at first you wanna mash it then realize it doesnt get hurt so you run around until it gets tired. oh look it's that boss again. after a while you just wanna rush it but it never seems to get tired when it changes directions so the only challenge in this fight is to pace yourself so the rat only faces one direction. the fight itself doesn't even make sense, you do damage by slashing it's tail/butt? a fur rat can't be damaged by your sword while you massacre fellow human beings and baddies with it?

the quest itself looks good but on the gameplay side of things is quite boring and dull.

That's a pretty good question actually, the main reason is simply that in there being a character directing the player around this is instilling a means for new players to actually be able to find what to do by the common rule of thumb in returning to this character, for an established player of Graal or reader of these forums you'll more than likely know the next Quest is going to be at Zol's so perhaps it would be more of a chore, but especially in future when this release becomes old news most players who are new to the server won't know what their next objective is going to be, some might not even know where Zol's Pub is located or perhaps not even heard of it, visiting Master Li marks the location on the map for just that and it fits in with the storyline, where Master Li also talks to you about the task you completed before.

Until the point where you can lower the water level which actually happens to be at the opposite end of the level you begin from it is pretty much linear unless you decide to take a right turn in the level above the first level having obtained a small key, but even then you cannot progress further as you require the Boss Key.

Once the water level is lowered you can immediately see the 2 new doors you can enter and one of these takes you through levels you'd have already been in, the other would also take you into a level you'd have seen already had you decided to climb down a ladder in the 2nd level but obviously you're blocked by a gate that has to be opened from within that level.

It's not really the direction you have to figure out, it's really just a matter of figuring out the combination of things you must do in order to obtain the Boss Key.

What Zol's brother says is actually meant to be a hint to keep away from it rather than attempt to hackNslash it directly where attempting to do so would be exposing you to its big sharp teeth rather that its furry body, slashing it from behind however (and yes the tail is its designated weak spot) means that it is unguarded, and it's actually fairly easy to beat once you figure out how to damage it and this isn't exactly a situation you wouldn't naturally encounter through trial and error either.

We didn't need to be spoon fed quests back in the real Classic days, what makes it a requirement now? New players (esp from this generation) these days are pretty stupid but not that stupid. The whole point of questing, at least on Graal, was to explore and find it yourself. The way Classic is now completely breaks the you are the player feeling. Our characters talk to NPCs and we don't even get dialogue input. We then blindly have to follow.

What if I don't want to fight baddies? What if I'm a lizardon rawr :3? What if I don't care about Zol's pub quest right now? Can I do others? Or will that break the storyline? Wat?

You're a new player. You get tossed in. Ok I'm in some green stuff I guess ill climb that ladder looking thin-O**** WHAT WAS THAT? IS THAT A RAT? IT JUST HIT ME HOW THE HELL DOES IT HURT ITS AS SMALL AS MY FOOT. This door seems 2 be locked I mean it surely wont open if i touch it OH SWEET IT WAS UNLOCKED COOL WHY WAS THERE EVEN A LOCKED DOOR LOOKING THING TO BEGIN WITH. Sweet room-i guess ill just go up cuz its fun. Oh look a block and some red carpet on the floor. Guess ill just keep moving righ-****ING RAT IN THE WAY GOD DAMNIT. Work my way down nice nice fighting mice is heroic. Cool donuts!! Can i eat them? wats dis lever do ok ill push it or someting sweet the green stuff is going down. Ill just go up n-WTF I THOUGHT I KILLED THIS FML.

That should sum up my experience x2.

It was pretty easy but confused me at the same time. It's not that it was impossibly difficult, it was just annoying and a chore. It wasn't fun. If people aren't having fun they won't bother continuing.

The boss where you run around in circles until it gets tired then hit it from behind.

It sounds more like "DON'T TRY TO BE A HERO, LOOK WHAT IT DID TO ME". Being Graal I expect to side-step dodge its bite and slash its body like a real champ. Not run around in circles until it gets tired to slash its tail.

p.s slashing it's face would prob do more damage than slashing its tail. My character has a shield, he wants to use it bro.

There is actually a way to allow you to climb up the ladder in the lower floor room, just requires you to trigger the switch by carrying a pot over it.

Not everything is going to revolve around a storyline, it is part of our plans to include separate content you can find yourself, still though you're acting as if your own ideals apply to every single person that is going to log on the server, from what I've noticed most newbies that ignore the mainstream content and wander around aimlessly simply just log off, those who follow through it tend to persevere and that's kindof the point, provide new players with a sense of direction and purpose so that they know what to do, don't have to wonder around through a completely alien overworld and likely get lost, and more likely stay online long enough to potentially start interacting with whatever community there is, it's not like we're expecting Quests to be something that keep players occupied constantly.

I thought you were supposed to push a block on it somehow. Thanks for the help though.

I liked the idea of it, but I didn't really enjoy the experience. And like Cronos, I found it to not have a sense of direction. I really think dungeons like this have to be more linear, but I'm sure you'd be able to change that if you wanted.
