I'd like to give them a warm welcome

With these people, and our old staff team (me, Konidias and Inferno) the development should go realy fast, and maybe 2k1 shall be back very soon!

I demand a name change on this server, and a totalyl different forum aswell as CheeToS getting the real 2k1 like Lance wanted to give it to him until SOMEONE stole it =(

Though it's going to be a big change of what it used to be, it's still going to have the essence of 2k1.

I can honestly say that even where it stands now, it's the best server I've seen on Graal.

CheeToS didn't want to manage the server, the manager position was given to Lyndzey, who shorty after gave it to Konidias.

You joined in 2004... did you even play it in 2001?

CheeToS didn't give it to Lyndzey.. I doubt he would. And who was the Jordan person.. only Jordan I remember from 2k1.. I think he was a GP? lol

I didn't play in 2001 but I did play as a trial when it was still around.

You can't judge when someone joined by when the forum says they did. If we did that, that'd mean you joined in 2004, and I joined in 2006.

My first graal acct joined the forums in 2001 around november, I started graal earlier then that =o.

Stefan originally made it. After the tossing-of-managers (currently happening on Era atm btw), it died or so.

Then there were few attempts to revive including Lances. After Lance quit, he gave it to CheeToS / Jordan.

I am pretty sure Lyndzey ended up going on 2k1 and giving Konidias access to it in which he shouldn't of had it..

I just think that konidias's project isnt what 2k1 was..

It perfectly fits the feeling of the old G2k1, we've added a lot of cool new stuff, and have made a bit of changes, just wait untill you see it all, and you'll be surely amazed.

For now, that's all I have to say. It's very sad to see, that what has started as a thread to actually say; that we are working hard again, has changed into something dumb about namechanges and that stuff. Just be happy that we do our best for you players!

id also like to add that now ive seen the server and browsed around, well to keep it short and simple, Its bloody awesome and it still remains with the old feel.

All I know is that I am not going to let it be much different than it was. Yes its different in some respects, its been a long time and the scripts were outdated someone is going to clean out the fridge so to speak. But as far as I understand from everything the whole concept of G2K1 is going to be the same.

As long as we have survivor island we'll be ok

Good luck to all the new staff... I trust Koni to steer everyone clear of totally changing the server. However I think after all the failures it goes without saying it needs a change. And since there is only 1 former staff member, I think this actually might be completed.

I've been away at school a long time for my Dr. in Computer Science... Its been a long time from being the person I was to the person I am now please don't judge me on past actions. I don't believe I've done anything to deserve that. Also I don't think they'd ask me to help if they believed that as well...

I don't plan on releasing any more screenshots because I plan on having a private release soon and then a public one and I really don't want to spoil anything by showing stuff before release. Plus it's not half as great seeing screenshots as it is experiencing the real deal.

Googi, this thread has nothing to do with NPC Kings, please don't bring them up here. We've already discussed this in another thread and pretty much anyone who read it could conclude that arguing about it is not going to accomplish anything. Nobody can say that npc kings will fail or succeed like it's a fact until it's actually put in action and tested, so I really don't need another opinion war in this thread. Maybe they will fail, I really can't be sure. The point I'm making is that I'm trying something different. I hope you can at least have some respect for that and I hope that you're open to at least trying it and then giving your opinion.

Anyway, since I won't post screenshots I might as well say that progress is moving along nicely and we've gotten so much done already. We spent hours yesterday putting together the time/date/season system. It's a world all it's own really... There will be the four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and they will consist of roughly 90 Graal days each. (which equals roughly 45 real days each) Meaning there will be 2 Graal years for every 1 real year. (which just means that time is twice as fast)

I think this time system is going to be great and it's extremely simple for us developers to make npcs such as townspeople work with the time system. There is also a replacement for the top center section of the GUI. Probably one of the more dramatic changes to the server really. We're replacing the gralat/bombcount/arrowcount/time area with a whole new thing that will show the time and also the weather (in a very visual way).

We still have a whole heck of a lot of work left to go but I'm confident you guys will see a full and completed public release this year.
