Particle Effects

I wanted to add particle effects to my gfx. Does anyone know how to do that? Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums.

Yes I believe particles are a cross between scripts and graphics.

NPC Code:
CProgram Files\Graal\levels\g4particles

That would so happen to be my particles folder. So I think that's answered the question if particles are graphics or a script. (Answer being: Both)

!!!

Do a forum search for particle effects, and I will add my tutorial on what emitters actually are.

Emitters are a script taking advantage of some predefined objects, namey the TShowImg and TEmitter. Attached is my particle effect tutorial.

particle effects are particles manipulated by script. It's more of scripting than gfx

Keep in mind that the particle engine in GS2 is somewhat limited as far as control. If you want to have particles follow specified paths (other than straight lines), you may be better off with a showimg. Similarly, for truly outlandish movement, such as my wisps that still float around on a few servers, you are going to need to use showimgs again. You could MAYBE replicate it with the particle engine, but it would take so many modifiers it would make your brain hurt.
