And another wishful suggestion: combine the pet system and the monster system, and base the new system off of personality/charisma. Do away with pet eggs, and the monster summoning spell, and reintroduce horses and monkeys, *cough* yodas, and those armadillo things as monsters. Then oratory and singing would be used to tame all monster/pet types. When you disconnect, all your pets/monsters/whatever poof off of the map with you. Then from there the behavior might be some hodge podge of the way the pet system and the monsters system works. IE, you have to feed all non-undead pets or they die, you cant slay pmode pets/monsters, and the only time when a player is in danger of being attacked by a pet is when both the owner of the pet and the other party are in bmode. The range of types, and number of pets you can charm/maintain goes up as your personality goes up. Toss in a breeding system and a monster leveling system and BAM! problem solved.
