Magic Abuse
 
My suggestion is that certain magic cannot be used inside houses. The ability to currently do this enables the magic user to summon all sorts of evil creatures in high traffic public area's such as the blacksmith shop in Bomboria West.

Imagine...walking in to a building and being trapped by summoned creatures, losing your (sometimes) valuable items..

Unfortunately there are still scrolls that can be used to do this, or you can summon them outside and have them follow you in

Yeah, that's what I do. Summon them and have them follow me inside.

The problem I have with this is that you're fully aware that it lags the server up, and sometimes even crashes it.

It only crashes when I summon hundreds and hundreds. I only actually crashed it once. Yes it lags the server briefly while it struggles to load all the monsters in Bomb trade. It mostly lags people's client.

Because there is nothing else you can do with summon pet monster. It pretty much is a useless spell in almost every PvE or PvP situation non-bug related. Just a cheap trick.

Yes when i first came on gk in december it was ridiculous. Nearly every single day there were either monsters in trade, or the postoffice, or something, and i lost every single one of the 15 diamonds i started out with to summoned monsters. Maybe if it was just re-engineered so that its not possible to summon 100s of monsters at once. The mana regen capping is a joke, it just means you have to pay for mana crystals to kill players under the impression that they are in 'safe' areas.

Why flute songs work for summoned monsters is beyond me. It seems the spell was specifically designed for laming. In houses or not, Many people have zero chance of survival either way.

The server going down is certainly an issue, but one with atleast a temoprary solution. The loss of items is less amenable to quick and dirty solutions, as either no one is willing to investigate, or there just isnt any good way to determine the losses. Not to mention the fact that im sure being repeatedly lamed in your first few seconds of existence as a non-gold player is going to lessen your desire to make a return visit, much less move you to pay to play the game.

I'd like to see summoned pet monster just do one of each monster selected when you cast or before hand. (IE: /cast summon pet monster Skeleton)

Each monster opens up as your level goes up as it does now. Though you can level your one of each variety of monster. You can also then make it go back to the magical void you summoned it from when you are dont with it. If it dies you start with a fresh new monster of that type.

And another wishful suggestion: combine the pet system and the monster system, and base the new system off of personality/charisma. Do away with pet eggs, and the monster summoning spell, and reintroduce horses and monkeys, *cough* yodas, and those armadillo things as monsters. Then oratory and singing would be used to tame all monster/pet types. When you disconnect, all your pets/monsters/whatever poof off of the map with you. Then from there the behavior might be some hodge podge of the way the pet system and the monsters system works. IE, you have to feed all non-undead pets or they die, you cant slay pmode pets/monsters, and the only time when a player is in danger of being attacked by a pet is when both the owner of the pet and the other party are in bmode. The range of types, and number of pets you can charm/maintain goes up as your personality goes up. Toss in a breeding system and a monster leveling system and BAM! problem solved.

((that sounds easy enough doesnt it :P ? ))
