So, you want to see Graal3D screenshots? Okay then...

More screenshots will be added at a later date here:
http://www.graalonline.com/community...php?gallery=42

Note:
A recent e-mail going around claims to give you access to Graal3D. This is not true. The information inside is not true and it contains a virus, please note that the release date is also wrong, it should be (hopefully) sooner than the date it quotes:

Quote:
Attached File: Graal3DFinalBeta.COM
Message:
Hello valued GraalOnline VIP subscribers and GraalOnline administration! Graal3D Final Beta has at last been completed and it has many new features, such as custom tiles and level editor, private online server just for VIP subscriber accounts and GraalOnline administration, and new dynamic scripting language and many new advanced weapons and 3D Direct X 8.0 effects, the public release will be made on September 7th 2004 but you valued VIP subscribers and select administration will get to see the advanced new features and play online months before the public sees it! the beta is for VIP subscribers and administration only and is not to be leaked to any non VIP or administration officials, and can only be gotten through the install file attached in this email! i hope you enjoy this latest development! - Stephane Portha GraalOnline Eurocenter head administration.
Added by MagicalTux: After some investigations, it seems that the attached file has the signature of a known virus named Dropper. It's packed with PKLITE. It's a trojan horse. If you opened it and don't have an antivirus software, you can run the Panda antivirus Online ActiveScan.

My Comments:
Looking very good! Apparently it can be played windowed and not fullscreen, which is good as I prefer windows unless I really want to play this and do nothing else at the same time. Its a great development from this:

Oh My God.
Yes!

The characters' eyes have like 58 glares in them... Little to anime-esque for me, but other than that... Awesome!

Looks cool...though I don't think Graal 3D will be the same Graal actually. But hey, I guess we have to try it. I can't wait for v3 of Graal, I heard you can actually make better PWs and more ideas to make them all different =P.

The castle tiles need help, though, I like it.

Um, aim = first person

I'd be suprised if you can't affect camera pos+ang through script anyways, besides allowing PWs to use diff char models...

*buys new computer asap* odam, I must be playing this when it comes out

I don't like the body meshes or skins whatsoever. They're a complete turn off to me, sorry.

I do like the angled lower part of the barn houses, it keeps it from looking too realistic and from making the visual perspective seem non-enticing.

First person perspective is good, although the ability to change perspective would be good too. There would be good reasons to keep it one perspective. If there are going to be other servers using Graal3D, then the camera should be rescriptable.

One last thing. The terrain tiles seem a bit flat, and the terrain also seems a bit flat.... even with the flowers.... especially the closer terrain.

On the picture with the casle you see it from third person view. You can switch between the two modes, fighting with axe/sword is actually easier in third-person view. We have not got time to fill the map with decoration yet (stones etc.), but we have prepared several stuff like fractal forests. It works quite fast on older computers, we develope it on 750Mhz/Geforce2, only the 3d modelling (the character, houses) is done on faster computer

I'm still going to want me new computer, I dont trust this one a bit, not to mention, I hate waiting for it when I accidentally make some bad code, or try to run something thats hardware intensive
Either way, I still want to script in 3 dimensions without pretending that parts of the game are 3d when they're not (i.e. jumping over rocks/fences, stuff like that) not to mention I want to play with camera and targeting scripting funfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunfunflu

I have to wonder though...how will speaking work? It'd look really funny if the same classic writing that graal uses (tempus sans itc i think? thats what i use anyway) appeared over those huge 3d bodies, lololol.

Graal 3d looks awesome, first time in a while I actually really want to upgrade my account to play and just not for forums.
Question: When 3d comes out, what will happen to the current 2d version of graal ?

Doubt it... from the views here people will still play GK. And unlike last time there are actual full time employeed people at the office working on Graal3D, so the people working on GK can still do so.

Most people working on 2k2 were not from 2k1 if I remember correctly, some were I know but they had 4000 other jobs so its not like 1 more would hurt them.

I'm saying that it wasn't that there was a lack of development of 2k1 that led to kingdoms getting all the players (there was but not because of lack of staff but lack of players) but because of the superior gameplay of 2k2. Now I expect that since Graal 3d looks to be superior that most players will migrate there.

Graal3D will not replace Graal Kingdoms, it has different goals. On Graal Kingdoms you can level up, build your own house and garden, organize kingdoms and kill monsters in dungeons. So it's more long term. We will try to introduce such things in Graal3D too, but at the beginning it will be more simple and more short term. Many things that we develope for the 3D version also helps in making Graal Kingdoms more interesting: we are working on a new mudlib for easier configuration of spells and introducing new things, as well as making the item system more secure and stable. This goes together with new scripting language and possibly new 3D features (like 3d objects or monsters).

Yes of course :-) May be we should hurry to release it, it gets annoying to describe things which are much more easier to see by playing it
