Class Weapon/Magic Proficiency

To sort of distance the classes from one another, since warrior is a barbarian without woodlore, among other class problems, what if each class was better with a certain type of weapon than the other? However, this could only really work for the fighter style classes, the magic type could be evened out just as simply. They could go as following.

Warrior: Great swords, (2 handed type)
Barbarian: Axes, clubs, hammers, stuff like that. pretty much anything on a stick or pole.
Thief(rename to Rogue!): One handed weapons, such as lighter swords, and daggers, along with bows to make up for lackluster melee combat.

The magic, or rather non-melee classes could each also get an attack or set of attack to even everything out.

Alchemist: Early chemical warfare? what about the possibility of throwing viles of unknown substances (to us anyway), which on impact spread pestillence or the likes..
Priest: ...
Wizard: ...

A warrior isn't even close to a barbarian. An example of a warrior would be a knight. Knight are fancy, showy but not that strong. They rely on there armor and weapon. An example of a barbarian would be like if you have ever seen BraveHeart, the people deffending there homeland didn't have armor or anything fancy. They were strong, knew the land but in this case they were smart which isn't exactly barbaric.

Maybe in Graal Kingdoms they are the same but they really shouldn't be. Barbarians should start off with a type of battle axe and warriors should start off with some fancy sword. Not a good axe or sword though, just something to start with.

thats what i'm saying. in graal the only thing that seperates them is literacy and woodsman. Weapon proficiencies would be a nice touch to the game, it would make those classes mean somthing. as for the magic classes they could have their own system or somthing..i'm only dealing with the fighters.

Weapon proficiencies would be a great addition to the game. I'd love to see that. It would stop everyone from using the same weapons, for one .. :o

But, if it was made new weapons and graphics would have to be churned out, and im very tired of weapons having almost levels.. each weapon should have it's ups and downs, that way not every single person would have a diamond sword, and spiked shield =P

also a two handed swing gani set for warrior fighting...hm maybe we could use the axe ganis..meh probibly not though, they could be inverted a bit or somthing to fit... that and more great sword type swords would have to be made as well..barbarians become more skillful with axe type weapons, the weapon is lighter for them, and does better damage..
thieves would get accuracy bonuses with bows, and i suppose damage with light swords and daggers...
warriors are the same as barbarians except not really anymore, they get the same additions when using broad, heavy, and great swords.

What about more skills.
Like Long Swords, Short Swords, Axes. And when you are at the selection screen you would be able to check what you can train in- that part is a suggestion.

Well there should be a skill scroll for Long Swords-warriors would have. Short swords- thieves. Axes- barbarians.

It would spread apart the classes because atm they are pretty much the same

What I don't like about the server is that it is too easy to become like other classes.
I think you should be able to become somewhat like the other classes but not completly like them.
For example I start as a priest.
I am able to learn magic but only up to medium level spells.
However I can only use low damage and light weight armour.
I must still buy the scroll of melee and a tailsman to use these.

Wizard: Faster spell casting would be nice...in form of item or result of magic skill levels... would help lots in the heat of battle. Maybe an instant cast damaging 'melee range' magic ability for up close conflict.

I would only want faster casting if the spell was direct and not some god mode arena clearer like icestorm.. and NO SKILLS.
this is what makes it too easy to become like other classes, the only thing that seperates them now is subtle stat additions or subtractions...weapon proficiencies should be permanent, and not sold in stores =/

I was thinking each class would have a skills unique to only that class....
Example:
Barbarian: Rage, Bash, Slam
Warrior: Weapon and Armor/Shield Proficiencys, Riposite
Rouge: Dodge, Double Attack, Spin attack, Light/Martial weapon proficiency(Martial: Punching Daggers, Claws)
Alchemist: ummm dunno
Wizard: SpellBlast, Enchant, Quickcast, Powercast
Priest: dunno

Ooh! i understand! thank you for explaining. that would be extremely cool. when i said that heavy swords only for warriors, maybe not. that could include all forms of swords i suppose, then more axes would have to be made for barbarians, and rogues could get rapiers, and other light dueling swords maybe three different kinds. basically they would get quick weapons.. where the D+back could be a forward jumping thrust and then jump back, very quick. the flying spinny thingy needs to be changed though..its bad. lol

o

not all skills should be sold in stores =/ kind of messes up the fun in the game... seeing a sorcerer with melee weapons and missle weapons is kind of lame. There should be seperate skills. instead of a big skill Melee Weapons.
for instance

Staff Skill
Axing-mace-club- the works
Sword-big 2 handed swords long swords
Dagger- Short Swords Daggers
Bows- Crossbow , Bow

I don't like that axes and pick axes can't be used by those without melee and who follow Brigid (but of course if you follow her you can't even use a watering can for some odd reason). Maybe they should be changed to tools .. :o
