Bomy wall glitch

Fix it.

Considering posts are the only thing about this, let's make a thread to catch peoples eye.

FIX THE DAMN GLITCH BECAUSE I WANT TO BE A BOMY AGAIN.

do you mean the glitch where if you hit a bomy over and over next to a wall he will just keep spinning and getting hurt and have no way of retaliating or some other glitch that i havent heard of...?

Yes, that also needs to be fixed, but not as badly as the bomy wall glitch, and bomy wall glitch is only one line of code (I think), they'd just have to add "if (!strequals(#m,"whatever bomy hurt gani is")) into the script for taking damage.

The door one is IMPOSSIBLE. They'd have to do the whole system over. I used to bug Loriel every day and he'd tell me this.

Loriel was probably bullshiting you, as he is Loriel and that is what Loriel does, but still, it would probably be very difficult, and since we have bomy spin that we can use to get into the doors when that happens, it's not that big of a problem.

Um, the problem that occurs about bomies not being able to get through the doors.. that is caused by swimming in water. When a bomy swims in water, the X/Y values of the bomy aren't integer values.. meaning it can end up as x equaling 23.3 or something when you come out of the water.. Then you won't be able to get in a door. This could probably be fixed by turning that value into an integer when they step out of water.

But a temporary fix is to just walk up against a wall or something (from the left or right) and it will adjust your x/y back to integer form. Then you can walk through doors.

...if anything is going to "break" the bomy script, it's more likely to be changing the door bug then the walling bug, since the walling bug only requires 1 (at the most very few) added strequals.

Hmmmm...... it used to be (Back in the good ol days, before PK'ers used to complain about everything) That when a bomy was hiding, he couldn't be hurt. We need to get that back into action. Seems a bit more realistic, eh? (Lol, as if Bomies are realistic)

Anywho, sounds good. Koni, you basically are right. You can easily fix it by running into a wall, but if we must, Jagen, go fix it...

I used to be a bomy, and I've had this bug happen before.
From what I saw, the bomy would not fit into the door. Perhaps widening all the doors to double doors would solve the problem. I'm not sure what this would mean script-wise, but as far as editing the levels go it would not be demanding.

Actually, when it used to be with the 'no hurt block', there was also the fact that the bomy moved back a bit after being hit... that or it slid... I forget which came first... oh yeah! It was the move back then sliding.

Simple solution--Rescript a few lines so...:

Bomys/bomies cannot be hurt under their shell. (Old Bomy)

If bomys/bomies are in the way, they can be lifted by someone who has a glove. (New Command)


That also could lead to new types of quests....

The carrying option could be abused..... perhaps we should put it into like an item form.. if you don't want it, don't grab the item. But it could become a problem.... Like humans randomly grabbing bomys and not letting go and just wandering around.... lol then there's the hiding under the bomies lol that could be interesting

Hiding under bomys/bomies:

There seems to be a new cave that was recently discovered by humans. It is, however, ran by bomies (ah whatever) and you cannot get in. It's exclusive. That's where the bomy comes in. Say you have a friend (or the HELP FOR 10G always works) that would let you hide under it (no perverse comments, please) to get it, then you could get it.


Or you could just make the carrying option accessible in certain areas. It's a hidden item (for example, -bomyhide) which can only be used if server.bomyhide #L equals.... test1.nw and not anywhere else... Bah you know what I mean.

Then there's my last suggestion, a time limit. You can hold a bomy for 15 seconds, but since these bomies are "heavy," you must "recharge" your stamina (ok, not stamina, but just a
time limit) for 10 seconds.... Yes bomies would get picked on, but a time limit might help.

Shell hiding = Yes but only with sliding.

Bomy Wall Bug = Why the hell hasn't this been fixed yet

Also, someone needs to expand the bomy storyline, everybody knows they came from space (bomy planet to be exact), but other then the bomy moon and bomy sun, there has been little insight into the existence of Bomys before they crashed on Mount Antora.

Hmmm... let's see... I created a GIANT HISTORY on the bomy landing.... hmm... maybe I should write up what happened before? Nah.. that would be giving away a lot of secrets that shouldn't be released right now, due to certain people's orders....

But as for the wall glitch, we already said it's easily fixable: Walk into a wall from the left or right and TAHDAH! Can you at least pay attention when you complain?
