In all seriousness, I was just trying to get some shading down and it turned into a mess with just clutter***** of dithering. I'd really like to learn and maybe even improve, so here ya go! (It isn't done, my train of thought was gone!)

For something like a cloud, you may benefit from filling the object with the darkest shade and drawing in the lighted sections, instead of trying to draw the shading last. It ends up feeling more natural in my opinion.

For example, here is a quick scribble I did in Photoshop.


I wouldn't use this as a reference as far as volume and shading goes, as I kind of ignored logic in favor of saving time... but either way it looks much more natural and "fluffy" this way. It's easier to think about and draw where light hits sometimes rather than to think of where it hits and draw the inverse. Comes down to preference, though.

Why have the inside of the cloud the same as your background? Even if its not complete, don't do that, makes it seems empty.

Well, I tried to test out my reference skills as far as "cloning" another image...
I sort of realized I had messed up on the nose perspective part, but ya...
Someone feels like shading it go for it, doubt it though considering it's junk.

My skills with drawing might not be fascinating therefore I'm choosing simple stuff to make at the moment, I'm just trying to get the shading down...

Eh, practice makes nearly perfect, so Ima keep at it, so far I'm enjoying it!

That is nice, but there are some minor problems you've got going. First off you're shading the bomb like it's flat instead of round. If it's round, shade the light hitting it like it's round. Also, the fuse is not centered. The only last thing I can say is to clean up the lines better(the portion of the bomb where the fuse is especially suffers where it should be more round) and use more lively colors. I'm not talking purple or blur, but just give your grays a very slight hue to make them look more appealing. For metallic grays it's usually a minor blue tint.

For the shading, like above for spheres I find it much easier to start with the darkest shade and simply use the circle tool to add the lighter shades onto it.

Indeed Just needs some more contrast(the best way to portray metal is to up the contrast!) and to rid of that bright highlight against the edge of the left lines.

Sort of bland, I feel like I can do a much better job on shading. I just am kind of confused as to where on the object I can fit a nice shade in.

Wood is tricky. You might want to check someone else's wood texture and try to make something similar on it, it is really tricky and working with tones of brown, can't go for a too light nor too dark shade for the texture

That's how I learned pixelart... Observing how it's done, and learning from the pros' work. Creativity comes in too. By example, you can learn dithering by observating how pros use it and what techniques can be applied. Result - Knowledge
