Not really. It's all about how complex the event is, and weather people will actually play it or not. For example; your event is fairly complex, it would require a legit coder to make the functionality from scratch.. probably including a GUI (which are obnoxious) for the tabs or whatever. And entire maps would have to be added, as well as some sort of lobby since it's a Team Event... for what? A new form of TDM (which is already rarely hosted) in which lag is king and laming/running would be absolute requirements. I just don't see it being CTF tier, more like Flagtag/Upgrade and hosted once a week... maybe.

Simplicity is key. The most popular events are simply: Assault, Spar (TTS/16/Team), BHPK/ULMS, even Chance/Lucky Grab.
These events all consistently gather join rates in the double digits.. I've seen 20-30+ man CTF/TTS events occur commonly. What do they have in common? They're all short and simple.. not to mention easy to host. BHPK probably gets the most player participation of any event.. ever; we actually had to put limitations on hosting it. And it consists of nothing but a warper. Chance, Spar, CTF.. just very basic chat commands and really nothing else.
You couldn't get that many people even when Outbreak (a few weeks to complete) was released with 120 people online. More complex events like Trivia (sure 15 might join.. I doubt less than 5 will be attentive and getting any points), EC Dig, KotH (even the gang members hate playing it.. it takes too long and guilds end up teaming up against whoever they dislike), Laser Tag, etc. are the same way.
Races grab maybe a half-dozen players.. and 4 of them leave almost immediately when they miss the start or someone gets past the first obstacle.

Recent example:
About a week ago Mega makes a 'Team Trivia' event so you'd get team-ec since it takes quite awhile to complete the event... It took a whole afternoon and half the dev team (I helped him, then Alfonso had to help me, Blackfires was all over the place too) luckily using existing scripts, and we ended up playing 3v1 in the end (loga's team left); I haven't seen it hosted since.
An hour later I created a class that's like 40 lines, mimicking party base CPs.. but for individual players, threw one at the beach and opened a warp. 20+ players were all over it for a half hour. GG
