I don't think you're getting what I'm saying, but since you've never really played era as far as I know it would be hard to explain. I can have up to 300 ms and not "eat bullets" on other peoples screens because I have a strong connection. Players with bad connections (take one of the kids from the virgin islands Danne4Life who never goes under 1k ping) will almost always eat bullets and warp around the screen.

I don't think you understand what latency is. There is no such thing as a "strong" connection.

Your ping refers to how long it takes for a message from the server to reach your computer and back again. Mines so low because the server is basically an hour away from where I live.

In your example, it takes about 1 second for a message to get to Danne4Life's computer and back to the server. So the data about where he is currently and all that isn't instantaneous. It's why he jumps around a lot.

Ping is a measure of latency or drag in the spread of information in a system, in this case between the player's computer and the game server. It's basically a measure of how laggy you are.

Last time I checked, I had I believe around 1700+ hours of online time. Could be slightly off. Also, what Chris said.

You're not really making an argument here other than saying "you don't know what you're talking about therefore you're wrong"
From what I saw in the past you were a good scripter and did some cool work on era and other servers, but you're not proving anything. If you PK on Era and see the relationship between latency affecting gameplay it's not what you'd initially think. Intuitively, it makes sense that higher MS means that someone is going to eat bullets, warp, etc, but that's not the case. There really is no simple correlation between the two which is what I'm getting at. Hopefully you understand now.

shoot() is clientsided, the only thing ms would do is affect how long after a player shoots that bullets will appear on your screen.

There has to be, as there is really no other way. As Ziro said, shoot() is a clientside function, and so are projectiles. Basically, once you shoot your gun, it takes roughly half your ping's time for the info to reach the server, then roughly half of each one's ping time to reach them. Once the projectile has appeared for another player, it can also hurt them. Depending on how long it took for it to appear, it'll be behind, since it will always appear at the position you shot it from. So if you see someone "eating", it's just because the projectile has not reached them yet on their screen. There's no magic involved here, just lag.

Yeah they really have to seperate Era,Un,Iphones with Zod and if possible move the server elsewhere, texas is horrible..

she was jailed by a Graal Police when everyone else was experiancing server lag. 100 mbps connection is not strong enough to play in wooden servers.. maybe move server to east coast or another country like utah/seatle if you like central us so much

Texas is really terrible for oversea players, the server before texas was much stable midnight spikes.. well who even pvps / farms in midnight anyway
You need geography lessons if you think Seattle is central U.S....

The servers have been quite bad the past few years, seemingly no matter where they've been hosted. The problem seems not to be the location, but instead the actual servers themselves (or perhaps the way resources are being divided and isolated between different Graal servers).

I use to have 60MS on era now I have 151ms so the change did affect things more then just a little, saying the change didnt affect much Stefan is some ****....60 to 151, id say thats a pretty big jump......

my friend used to have 100 ping but now has 400~600 and with these recent lag spikes 1k~2ks along with 10 other people near him

some people say stefan is downgrading pc graal servers because its not giving him enough cash..

We will further improve the server infrastructure, sorry if it's lagging a little bit on some servers. Normally it should be fine but we will check it.

yeah im getting a constant 140MS or worse.

the average MS is around 130 ms or worse.


also for most people on V6 if they don't uncheck "use open GL for graphics" it lags them to death like it does to me. but it keeps checking itself.

so it came to a point where even people in america have double,triple their original ping
even if we do have 250 or lower ping the server lag is outrageous.. not worth playing at this point.. lagspikes made many quit there are still enough players remaining so i hope its fixed soon
