Actually, your ability to play an instrument means absolutely nothing to making music! Your ability to understand it however, is absolutely key. A musical instrument is only an I/O for the music you produce. You input key's, strings, etc.. it outputs music. Knowing how notes fit together, how to construct sounds is more important. You can look up youtube videos and see people who make more money using there computer (both FL and LMMS) and thats how they make there money. I think Soulja Boy showed in a few videos how he started making music using FL. And let's not even get started with someone like Dr. Dre, I dont even know if he can play a musical instrument but he can surely make music.

I would highly recommend using youtube to your advantage, learn the basic's of music and work your way into which ever IDE suits your needs.

Sure, but I still highly recommend it.

It's a good thing just to know the basics and such so you have the knowledge there at the back of your head.
