GoDoT - Music programs

Hello! I would like to get into music and SFX a little more. Are there any programs you guys recommend or that I can make the extension an MP3 without paying for a full version?
Thanks,
GoDoT

I favour ACID Pro by sony for composition. It's pricey though.

Is there a trial and can you make MP3's with it?

Why does every thread of yours start with your name? We can see your name below the title or your profile when we open the thread :oo:

Nothing is pricey if you know how to use the internet to your advantages.

Download Audacity from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
download lame_enc.dll gtom http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...shtml?lame_enc

For the software part, i would suggest AnvilStudio for composition and Audacity for editing and mastering. But if you really want to make appealing music, and want do it in a reasonable amount of time, I would suggest a digital piano and a track recorder aswell.

The software is really just there for starting and finishing the music. You CAN do the whole process with a computer, but you probably will not be as productive, or like the result as much.

You can also look into LMMS which runs on Linux and Windows. It is capable of creating full blown professional quality music. It's a free alternative to Fruity Loops.. LMMS = Linux Multi Media Studio

Along with the other programs and methods mentioned, I strongly recommend learning an instrument such as Piano, Guitar, etc to get some music knowledge and talent. Once you get the hang of it, upload your work and go from there with editing and such. :)

That's what a true SFX/Music Artist should, and does do.

Actually, your ability to play an instrument means absolutely nothing to making music! Your ability to understand it however, is absolutely key. A musical instrument is only an I/O for the music you produce. You input key's, strings, etc.. it outputs music. Knowing how notes fit together, how to construct sounds is more important. You can look up youtube videos and see people who make more money using there computer (both FL and LMMS) and thats how they make there money. I think Soulja Boy showed in a few videos how he started making music using FL. And let's not even get started with someone like Dr. Dre, I dont even know if he can play a musical instrument but he can surely make music.

I would highly recommend using youtube to your advantage, learn the basic's of music and work your way into which ever IDE suits your needs.

Sure, but I still highly recommend it.

It's a good thing just to know the basics and such so you have the knowledge there at the back of your head.
