Why not make an entirely new server? Seems easier than messing about with GK's clunky ass ****

Also by making all equipment available through quests/crafting/etc you're essentially reseting everyone. What I can support however is releasing NEW items with equal stats. ie NEW SHIELD of con+1 and leave KJ as it is. that way people can collect their rares just to look cool, instead of getting both looks and retarded op stats.
