You might be able to get away with it. The main thing you should focus on is desaturating the grass a little. Then from there you can play with the trees/bushes/hedges individually.

What I did was desaturate the whole scene, then darked the tree a little, dropped the saturation a tad on it. Then I brightened the bush some, and messed with the hue of the hedges. However, you don't need to drop the overall contrast, I was just being lazy. If you can isolate the grass itself you can just work with that.

Have you considered maybe trying graphics similar to Minish Cap instead of LttP/Graal?

http://www.gamefaqs.com/gba/920670-t...ish-cap/images

They're very similar to Graal and the older 2D Zelda games, but are slightly larger in object dimensions(such as the interiors) and don't adhere to tile/grids as much. I think it would suit your style more and give you more creative freedom, while still feeling very similar to Graal.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me. I was initially taking some of Minish Cap's gfx as a reference. You hit it right on the nail, I do want more creative freedom, simply tracing pics1.png takes most of the fun out of it. Yet I still want give it that classic 'Graal' feel to it. I'm gonna be experimenting some tomorrow.

Doesn't seem to be important anyway.
