Well makes things easier when you just say it straight like that, because I've directly said a few times now, this isn't it. I'm not saying it will always be this way on this thread either. I'm not saying you will HAVE to log on, I'm just saying right now, this isn't it, as I don't want to post too much on this thread about Armageddon until we get a few more key things done. I do now understand what you're saying right now isn't rude. But just to say, you did say the server had no content. Doesn't matter now.

All this started because of a comment by Rufus, then me stating directly that he doesn't know, which is a legitimate thing to say, since he really doesn't. Especially compared to all the other people replying, who have been on the server. That was my only point. Sorry it didn't get across (not saying that rude, saying it may have been might fault it didn't for you).

i do understand what your judging but in recent posts its very clear to judge what was scripted. Not a screenshot of half a full level thats hardly half complete.

its definatly not showing off what we currently have. Its show exactly what cyril scripted.

it would be like judging a half cooked meal.

criticism on something that isnt done dosent help at all. Criticism on the finished project is what counts.

Definatly not contructive, The contruction isnt even done.

In other words "the server looks a mess"

kinda like saying that to people right in the middle of building a house,

Wouldn you rather make improvements on the un-finished product or have to work on it when it's been deemed as already finished?

the level was never deemed as finished. around 6 out of 7 liked it so why would i move things around and start over?

im sure it will look fine once i finish it.

I'll let the preview speek for itsself. Looking forward to the feed back good or bad.

Making improvements would be enhancing the game play for the better, you'll never progress if you define making improvements as final.

I'm intrigued with everything what I've seen and heard; Maximus has stated that you care about the detail in every little thing which has interested myself with the development of Armageddon. I'd rather see the the server go up with the expectations as above - I wouldn't like to log on when you've finished to see that the majority of work has been rushed and you see content which isn't as good quality as other parts on the overworld. Criticism needs to be taken constructively from players as you're developing the world for the players to enjoy.

We are and have been. I think he's saying they're not judging as a whole, and that those levels were no where near done, which hes saying, of coarse they may look bad now, they aren't done. At least thats what I get out of it.

He can tell if it's a total mess from 3-5 screenshots? Even then, they were of the same level/area multiple times. He can claim all he wants that he was just being "blunt", if he was just being blunt he wouldn't have had to write a novel to get his point across.

Criticism on a finished product is wasted effort, because it is finished... therefor no more changes will be made. Otherwise it is something that is not done, so criticism is best received then.

He means in a dev server. We haven't even presented the lv. He's actually ....

uhg ... I am going to try to stop this. Every single person in the world has their own views.

While we do WANT and NEED CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, we would appreciate it better if we were presenting the item to be criticisized. See what I mean? Whether it be you walking around on the server like we let Soala do to give constructive criticism on gfx, or looking at a screenshot of something we are presenting it is appreciated.

Please guys, Armageddon is a large thread of server updates and arguments. Can we please stop the arguments now? :/

Guess we're technically agreeing then, my bad. xD

Our player house system is near complete. We have it where you can hover over furniture that is in your house, hit x to set it to move, then drag to where you want it to go. The class reads which furniture should be on walls and which shouldn't (for pictures and stuff).

Still to go is the actual system on handeling player houses inventory which includes taking furniture in and out of storage. Once this is done, I will add to the system the handeling of buying/renting/selling houses on the gmap, as well as keys to houses (which will be access to a house).

Should be done with this by the end of tomorrow.

I'm actually going to then move on to the movement system, and vamp it up a bit. Right now it is really, really basic. I'm going to hand the replace ganis more effeciently, and add rp style swords, drawing swords for regular hits, diving farther and farther under water ( I believe there are 3 different "levels" of how far you can go down), and then back up, climbing certain parts of cliffs, jumping over certain tiles, and little immediate "emoticons" like grabbing, pulling, ect.

All this should be done by Friday. We are almost done with the first town as well, including insides. Decus has been working his butt off on gfx and levels to make this happen by preview time. I am working on the main bar, instruments, and other little things like that when I get bored from the system scripts.

Deas is also working hard to finish up our main weapons, and polish them to fit our server. Look foward to those soon.

Our preview is in about 2 weeks. I don't think its an "official graal preview", but we will have, at the least, the first town open. You may not be able to do much more than jack around with stuff, but you'll at least be able to get out of OSL at that point so we can give you a style of our server.

theres always room to improved finished things. Especially a level.

Id hate to go along with the criticism and when the guy criticising sees the single part of the level without seeing its surroundings and how it fits in really isnt a type of criticism id listen to. That goes for anyone wearing the same shoe.

everyone i know offers critique on finished products anyways, some will like it and some wont. I'd rather listen to feedback when the preview is over so we can make adjustments.

My statement is true when we're talking about 1 level out of 625. The finished product would be the server, not 1 half of a level.

Then is it finished? Not really. It's best to get criticism as you work, that way you're not wasting time going back and redoing things you could have caught before hand.

i think the point is that what is being showcased is just the average "serverness" to show that the server is approaching the point of release. the uniqueness of the server will show itself through the experience of the server, which we plan to tweak as a finished product. what is unknown is the pace of the server (in my feelings at least) and it can really only be determined well by having the finished server, followed by gameplay by guilds

though the interpretations differ, this should be a very flexible classic server that avoids and improves upon what has been grown to become the norm. i wouldn't let the attitudes in this thread take away from the nature or purpose of armageddon itself

i really dont think theres enough "level" to fix anything. Cant catch much when theres nothing really there. specially on a level such as the one posted.

i think the criticism is worth 1000X more when you see how each level comes together rather then looking at a level with barly anything on it. What i mean is solas criticism and others who have logged on. Thats why the preview will hopefully help us fix the things we're working on

Why would you alter it if it was a place-holder? Also, why so many stolen place-holders? If it's just a place-holder, throw some crap together and use it instead. Stop using other peoples graphics... And I know of a lot of graphics that are stolen from someone I am on friendly terms with and he is not happy about it.

Yes, I contacted Stefan and he more than agreed to let me use Classic as a base for my project.

And my LttP remakes were not for Graal, or any project at all. They were just a way to pass time.

I clearly stated the references of those pieces when I posted them. However they were made from scratch with a lot of influence. I also never used them on any of my own projects, and what people do with them is their choice but they are not stolen graphics.

nobodys bashing your work , mostly because you didn't do the work . you just ripped off beholders stuff . the flower wallpaper , the brick wall , the wall support's , brown strip on the flower wall paper . the only thing you didn't steal was that stone floor tile . you talk about being hypocritical , yet you sit there telling dusty off for stealing while your stealing someone's images , that's funny . the only thing funnier is how you try to turn this around on dusty rather then explain your content thieft .
