Ya, PCID is somewhat recent(wasn't added until guest accounts/community names were made... I THINK. Could have been earlier).

Earlier internally, I believe. But they couldn't be used instead of an ip range back then

Hmm... ya, I think I do remember globals being able to ban computers way back when, even though RC's couldn't.

How so, if you didn't even know your own pc id?

I was talking about times where they were created, bannable, they showed up in the usage logs..but "regular" people couldn't find them anywhere and, therefor, couldn't use them.

Oh, you said "before the whole community name and guest" thing, so I was referring to v4, which regular staff (with ban rights, not sure if there are other ways) could find it and use it.
