I didn't think of it like that. It very well could.

I was just going a long with a way to encourage people to get on and leave their mark on the server. It's a rewarding thing for the majority of players.. getting their name in a public place.

Indeed, but with so little actual variety(even in the future) this seems like something that will only last for a moment. Someone gets the fish and then everyone else gives up.

However, if you implement a system where whoever donates a LARGER fish gets their mark in the aquarium, this will give players an incentive to continue competitively. What you could also do is whenever someone donates a larger fish, markup the max weight possible for the fish just a little, so that it will be impossible for someone to hit a max.
