Lag = Speed increase?

I have decent enough DSL and don't lag on many Mmorpg's. Lately though, servers in graal like Zodiac, and Zone, both lag very much so unless I reduce the window size to only take up about a quarter of my screen, then I had to redo the gui for myself so I could actually see more of what was around me.
