Lag = Speed increase?
 

Okay, so this thread isn't about my ban, so don't talk about it in here. I don't want this thread deleted.


So, I lag, like, a LOT on Zone. More than any other server. Would that have an effect on my speed? Well, do you think it would? Like an increasing effect. I'm trying to figure out something.

Like sometimes in Platform, everything will freeze, but I'll still be able to walk around and stuff, like someone could be in the middle of jumping and they'd just stop where they were, and the little death circle with the skulls doesn't fade out, it just keeps going around and around and around. But I'll be able to move, I can't shoot my weapon but when I press S it will make the shooting motion but won't shoot any bullets. This happens very frequently

Unless your computer is slow when they are moving (and you still wouldn't move faster, just appear to warp around to others).

There shouldn't be any reason you would speed up, unless that somehow decreases the amount of speed on your client due to some crappy script. And I can't see how that would happen.

No, you just freeze up on the other players screen and when your internet catches up they see you warp. It can be bad/good depending on how long you freeze up/ How long it takes yoru internet to catch up. idk

Ps: it's like modem tapping, I can do it for a example if you want. :D

IT would just look like you're warpng. My friend was just recently banned lagging like that and was acused of speed hacking. After he went to kds and got unbanned. Usually he would ignore people who is banned saying they didnt hack o.o

They shouldn't ban based on the speed hack log... I think Zone does though...

i Remember Raven ranted about the amount of laggers Zone had, he even showed me the list of 1 day lol.

lag seems to slow me down and put me off on zone. i hate lagging, but i have a turd laptop/wireless soooo i live with it :P

Oh God that speed hack log is awful. I remember seeing Stefan getting reported for hacking on it.

Hmm when I lag..
On My Screen: I can move around freely, everyone else is frozen but me.
On Their Screen: I'm a figure standing still walking but not moving forward.
I know that right when I come out of my lag, on their screen my character jumps all over the place. But thats never recorded on RC as my player increasing speed.

I've heard speed hacking programs increase your speed as well.

And then each of those players on the list began to vanish one by one.........

I remember a few years back when I tried to make a hacker detection script.

It thought everyone was hacking.

I have decent enough DSL and don't lag on many Mmorpg's. Lately though, servers in graal like Zodiac, and Zone, both lag very much so unless I reduce the window size to only take up about a quarter of my screen, then I had to redo the gui for myself so I could actually see more of what was around me. XD Included ~ random pic of it cause I'm so bored atm...

well, this can soud pretty dumb but how old is your computer? and what operating system does it use???

i mean if your computer is older than 8 like mine your probably lagging because of it and that means your computer lags and it makes you like a little bit faster
but if its a new computer using Vista its your internet and that makes you slower
and, if its your computer and internet hmmm, your probably ****ed up.

its a pretty new computer, close to 3 years old, maybe?
i do have vista.

I ban off of speed hacking logs only if it's in excess.

I removed the account name, but the same account repeated itself for a good page and a half. (I paste them into Word sometimes)

Now if I see stuff like that I ban them. Not to mention that this person was actually reported to me for speed hacking by a player. I checked the speedhacking logs and there he was.

One person showing up in it once isn't any of my concern, nor is two or three times in a row. But if I see your account going on for a page and a half I'm banning you. You can make a support ticket and get it unbanned that way.


It's easier if you copy and paste it all into a word document, then delete everything up to what you haven't seen. Makes it so much simpler to sort through.

If i play era on a good day with 80 players or more i lagg horrible...

In fact i call it the matrix i can dodge bullets ..ect which pisses of players ...

worst when it rains and am on n-pulse... lol
