I'm actually fairly sure I don't have a paypal record for either of my accounts, as I was required to use this method.

The transaction ID was e-mailed to me only.

Fyi: Please note I have 2 different accounts and one no one knows I even have it that have support tickets open and haven't been answered in quite some time so quit telling people to untill they're being responded to it's kinda un-helpful and annoying.

Hehe he's not the only who lost his Trans ID I have done it too, that doesn't make me an idiot or anything .. but honestly not too many people care to keep up with it they don't belive they'll ever need it..Plus I think I destroyed mine during a little cleaning ^_^

The number you need isn't your paypal transaction number, its a number you breifly see before you even pay for your account (before you get to the paypal site). This page does not tell you to save this number nor gives any hint that it is even remotly important!

I highly suggest putting in huge bold red letters on that page (Because red clashes with Green):

Save this number for future use as it may be the only way to recover your account in the case of account theft!

Also everyone ignored my IP comment. Last year I wanted my account's email to be changed and since my kind friends upgrade my account, I didn't have the paypal receipt or whatever.

I pretty much gave a detailed description of where my account has been used, explaining changes in IP/when these happened and it was sorted out.

It's true but the real issue is me not looking back at what I wrote (or looking back and missing obvious errors) which is very prominent for me at that time.
