Okay, well myself and Demisis have designed a new system for the gangs. Here's currently what it supports

It uses the Item buying menu to buy it too. All works, the only time a player needs to be online is when adding the player to the gang. Once that player is added, you can do any other function if that player isn't online.

Let's hope that it's released soon!

An example of what will happen if the sell gang command works. So we have to risk if Sia or Kae selling the gangs or changing the names if that gets released. The selling will just make everyone who owns the gang rich quick. The changing name is going to get abused and change it to other gangs or businesses name so they can gain access to it.

You can't allow leaders to sell their gang. It's not fair to all the members in the gang trying to work their way up the gang ladder to become a recruiter or leader, to see some irresponsible newbie that has absolutely no clue what to do, or how to lead the gang take control.

Changing the gang name is also a bad idea. Make the connection; a newb buys the gang, then changes it to "dark killerz." Uhm..? If you're going to make restrictions on gang name changing, then why not just abolish it as a whole?

You honestly think that a leader of a gang will hand it down? Almost every gang that has had a new leader recently got it through items or USD.
However, we'll take your suggestion into consideration.

We don't actually mean editing the gangs tag, that'll be the gang name.

Basically, what you're asking for is that gangs will still be staff controlled, still having a gang admin to edit all of the levels.
However, as stated above we'll consider removing them.

Take into consideration what happened to bizes. The ability to sell them at will made them easy to obtain and made the players feel like they did all that you could possibly do on Era. And when the **** have you ever heard of a gang sell themselves?

AMEN!!! I did a lot of begging to get into that business and then 2 days(maybe it was 1) it was sold, I wrote a complaint and he said, "sorry, the guy was gonna gimme friggen katana and 10K!!! =D=D=D"

One could easily agree that the gang system needs serious remodeling.

This system looks like more power is put into the leader, other then having staff have to edit strings in levels.

However, I could introduce a new gang [if authorised] and that one can have these features I suppose?
Basically, what we did was create a system that allows control over everything. Something, that everyone wants. However, when we try to introduce this to a system that already exists, people tend to stick with what was first [the old system].

If you made it so Blazian Bandits, Los Carteles, and Black Holst cant sell or change their names (like you said just showing we only have three) and create a new bland gang that can be auctioned off I'm sure money would be out of the economy and it would create competition. Have a monthly check by the gang admin to make sure they are actually doing a good job running the gang if not it will be deleted and re auctioned off. So that pushes the idea that DO GOOD OR YOUR BLAND GANG WILL BE DELETED AND AUCTIONED!

Or just add it that instead of instantly changing, have it send a 'request' to the staff, and log it or some such, and have it processed.

To me, this gang system just took no longer than an hour or so. If anything, I can delete it and it wouldn't bother me. I'd rather hear what people would like, instead of what the staff have decided.

Theres only 2 things bad with it.

selling the gang and changing the name.

although churches idea is good. Make a gang similar to the old street gangs, and auction it off. Whoever buys it can change the name, sell it to whoever, whoever buys it next can change it etc.

That's not so bad. Have you seen gangs lately? They getting pretty ****ty. BB has 3 leaders and they're all not doing a very good job.
LC is trying to be a Navy or something and has the rank 'Admiral'.
And Kae got BH back from WarHead and then gave 'Leader' (not Boss) rank to some guy for GK items.

It'd be nice to be able to keep the gangs because they're part of Era's history, but gangs have died before. Rubeus Syndicate, Era Mafia, Profaci Family, Todaro Family, Taifu, Tachi, Soviet Correlation, Terisu Family, Morano Family.
It'd be better to let the current gang die than to let them become any crappier.
I just don't see why we should keep them around if they're not doing a good job?

Besides. It's not like they'll definately die.
There are also other features of the gang system that haven't been revealed/approved yet.

I made a similar system for this on Oakdale, except it isn't a gang system its a business system and rather then letters for the rights I use numbers. I also have it so certain ranks have a unchangeable array of rights

You make your own ranks, and the owner[s] can assign rights for that rank.
