I see what you're saying about it being a video game. But you should know that it isn't just younger kids playing video games anymore.
Maybe an 18+ forum is pushing it a little. I'd rather see a set of rules set up for the lounge that are more relaxed, and allow the mature discussions of a few more things, understanding that the majority of people using these forums are over 18.

wtf why are you idiots obsessed with 'maturity' ..

when you go to the shop to buy lets say..alcohol..they dont go 'NOW ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE MATURE ENOUGH TO BUY THIS?' .. they ask if you're old enough

It's not about being mature, it's about being old enough to be able to take part in 18+ discussions/topics.

And Darlene stop going on about being mature, how old are you and you sit here playing a young persons game, i'd say thats immature, I dont mean any offense here, but i think it's you that should grow up and realise your age and go do things like life that adults should be doing, instead of wasting your life here.

We tried to be relaxed, it doesn't work on these forums.

See, this is what I see way too often, proving that this game is more for kids.
The age group is for 13+. No where does it say that you cannot be over a certain age to play. If it does, show me. I do not waste my life here. Regardless of what you might think, I do make time for myself, rightly so, and the hobbies I choose to have.

No, you are wrong. Your attidude is immature and full of biased opinions.
Who the hell have to judge about the likings and hobbies of other persons? Who has the right to tell somebody else if and when and how he/she can play a game, moderate a game forum or play with a dollhouse?
I dont think we are the idiots in this case, sorry.

I would love to see this discussion, I think a forum where there is little or no moderation exept when people are being seriously offended or racism etc, I think this should be created

I'm sure she appreciates your love, but i wasnt talking to you

Who are you to decide who's mature and who isnt? just because they dont act like you do? that makes them immature? If you can decide that a person is immature just because they dont have the same ways of thinking as you, then i have the right to claim that a person of an 'older' age playing a game with people 3x younger than him/her is immature.

Except, I can almost guarantee you, that this is what would mostly be there, based on other forums I have seen try this. It just doesn't work.

In your case it is very easy: you are not mature and you self admit it.
In general its not me who decide who IS immature but I can judge who ACTS immature.

There's no quotes because I'm making a general response to the original post (so the person I'm talking to is the thread creator).

I take personal offense to this. I'm 23 and I don't feel like I should be told I'm immature because I like to play games like Graal. What should adults be doing oh wise one? Reading newspapers and drinking coffee? Should every person over the age of 21 be getting married, having kids and working 9 to 5? What a load. Please don't post in this thread anymore. Save yourself the embarassment.

In the same sense, a person's access to a forum should not be defined by one person's judgement on what's mature

Good thing there wont be such a forum here then, huh?
Just stop looking for a way to have a section here with no rules, it wont happen.

Is it horrible that I like to play viseo games, and other PC games too? I have always loved video games, and computer games.

It's really very simple. The game is marketed to children, and the creator and owner has no interest in expanding beyond it. It's not out of spite, or bitterness, it's a business decision.

Most of the people here are above 18, so his business plan is to...treat them like little kids?

You're looking at this as if clients for Graalonline are limited, and that Unixmad has to make decisions based solely on them. Sure, perhaps there are lots of 18/18+ users - but the game is for kids, and I imagine he won't change that any time soon (based on his lack of interest in such a forum).

Even if they lied on that poll, it still means that they wanted to be treated like adults.

There is a huge difference. There is an entire generation gone bye. New trends, new styles, new attitudes. Obviously you have either consciously or sub-consciously adapted some of these as they effect your daily life, but an entire generation is a huge difference.

Most...was probably a really bad word. But there are quite a few. I'd say over 30% of the people who are active forum users are over 18. And while I understand that you have to protect the younger crowd, there must be a way to do it without alienating the older crowd.

Maybe quite a few of the active forum members are 18+, but there are a lot of forum members who do not actively post that still view the forums, and are still members. A new account registers on the forums several times a week.

I am 41, and I do not feel alienated at all. I just understand that the rules are how they are because younger children do play graal and sign up for the forums. No big deal at all.

If it is truely marketed towards children I am very suprised at that, I mean for the most part only us old people (18+) even remember the non-3d zelda series so we are the ones that go "ahh that takes me back I think i will play this". Most kids these days just want 3d action packed shoot em up games. They cannot appreciate an SNES style game such as graal.

You keep saying this and I don't see how you could possibly know this information.
Most of the members I have met, are under 18

I don't care about some piddly poll. I want to know where you get the statistics that most members of these forums are 18+.
Oh, and children wanting to be treated like adults, and members actually being adults ar two different things

Doesn't matter, if they claim they're 18, you can't be blamed.

Obviously it does matter to the owner of this forum.
