This is getting ridiculous. I have read the graphics forum for a long time and it seems that so many of these threads turn in to ego battles. I don't even bother getting involved with this stuff because so much of it becomes a waste of time on the part of everyone.

When it comes right down to it, being able to pixel isn't an all-to-prestigious skill. It's a fun little hobby that holds little significant application other than that (unless your goal in life is to develope halfassed Korean RPGs). If someone wants to act as though he or she is royalty for having that skill then so be it. I knew guys that acted like they were God's gift to man because they often won local Remote-Controle Car races. Would you like to know what happened to them? After a while, everybody hated them and the men completely lost interest in the event. CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM.

I'm sure Elk gets the message by now. You're not going to verbally beat maturity into him. If he wants to continue his ways then let him. These constant dork fights aren't going to solve anything.

An important thing to remember, when posting your work (speaking in general here) in the Development forums, is that we are not perfect, our work is not perfect, and everyone has different tastes, and sees things differently.
Some people will love your work, others will not. These people who do not like your work may offer ways they think you can improve on your work. Isn't that the point of posting your work?

My advice is: If you cannot handle some people not liking your work, or a piece of your work, and you cannot handle people giving you advice to make something look better, then do not post your work.

We do not allow outright bashing of someones work here, but constructive critisism is allowed, and should be/is appreciated for the most part, so if you can't handle it, it would be better not to post your work.

@Elk, your work is really good. So some people don't like this particular piece of work, so what. Just because one piece of work is not liked, doesn't mean you aren't good.
I hate most famous paintings that go for thousands, if not millions of dollars too, does that mean they aren't good because I don't like them? No, it just means they simply are not my taste. Someone must like them, since these famous artists are...well...famous.

Elk, every negative review you ever get seems to make you angry. You seem to think you need no help and you're a graphics god, when in reality you're far from it. You have a little talent and you know how to use it, I've seen you attempt to range out your ability to other projects that aren't this kind of pixel art and they were terrible.

You post here looking for praise, and when you don't get it, you fall on your stomache, slam your fists and feet and cry like a 4 year old in a supermarket. Your attitude needs to change drastically, because right now you just make yourself look like an *******.

And before you reply with some retarded response like "i am god lol", shut up.
You are funny...I thought you are smart

I have posted levels that I have made on these forums. Do you think everyone liked them? Do you think I recieved 100% positive feedback? No, I didn't. The negative feedback can sometimes open your eyes to flaws you don't see.

and thats where you're stuck and wll be or a long ass time because you don't listen. i don't give a **** if your graphics look decent/good today. they will never improve with that attitude and its not like you're godlike at gfx.

i put people like tom, galdor, pkt and such higher than you. your work may look like it's as good as theirs, but they're constantly improving and take feedback. you don't and suffer from it.

gg, then again i dont really care so why am i posting here? XD

I'd call you an abnormally resilient hypocrite, but you wouldn't understand the term, so skip that. Your mentality is as stubborn as a British tank, and about as fragile as one.
