As of right now there is no option to turn it off... it works by censoring what YOU say, not other players. Therefore I don't really see a way to have the option to censor out what everyone else says.

If there was the option to turn it off, you'd see some people using profanity and other people not. Which wouldn't really make much sense.

It only stars out the offensive word, if you said like "this server (profanity) rocks!" then it would show up in game like "this server ******* rocks!"

I think you should change the script. If Player A has it off, then he sees any and all profanity that is seen. If Player B has it on, he doesn't see any.

It should be on an individual basis.

Yeah but that's totally different from what we have... My scripting knowledge is lacking as of late... but I think having the script grab everybody else's chat text, check it, and then change it, every some odd seconds... would be kind of laggy.

=(

I just really hate it when you're talking with a friend and you happen to say something (that might actually not even be that bad) and it's blocked. Just don't go too far with it. Only cover the big words. If it goes overboard then it's stupid.

Indeed. Should be interesting to see how it's all finalized, especially given early plans for these ends.

If you can't make the filter optional, then you can't.

It's not like I won't try 2k1 again.

hm.. If you explain how that'd work.. something can be arranged =P.
I've been constantly trying to find some new server ideas about stuff.. though I am currently working on one which I will explain more about sometime.

( And yes.. I have played Mario RPG (on snes) before =o )

Well so far you'll be able to ride it like before. Plus you'll be able to siphon water in it's trunk and spray water over a larger area. Which will be good for watering a lot of crops or putting out a bunch of fire or whatever.

If anyone can think of other uses for them... like trunks grabbing something... or trampling something... or whatever, just post the ideas here.

I can tell you that I plan on making it a lot more in depth... for an elephant. It will make noises and possibly kneel down and rest, and also if you are near it while it's stomping around your screen will shake a bit... and if you're riding on it the screen shakes even more. So that's pretty cool I think.

Make it so you can't be attacked by other players on it. That'd be kind of cool.

Oh, and are you making it a permanent pet?

I remember the day elven lands was shutdown.

I was on and EL2k1 was forming in which Heyhost destroyed it =o. I recall hack trying to upload a backup and Heyhost would delete and reupload EL2k1 or whatever.

Anyway, I remember the:
This server has been shutdown.

message =D

Sword Display ftw. Then 2.0 = that green one. Then around 2.1 or so it got revised w/ darker colors.. I think the entire display was changed from your login after you click start to the main screen around 2.1 or so.

The NPCs are ultimately controlled by someone, it is improbable that you will build a completely self aware NPC on Graal, it is too complex, so someone will have to input information, most likely a staff member, and they're just as likely to do something corrupt as any other player. The idea is stupid, and I'm willing to bet that if you made a King NPC, it'd be ignored completely, and the person next in line would act as the King.

While I still disagree, rabidly, with the NPC King concept, I will at least reserve final judgement for the execution of the idea.

Besides, there's plenty of other redeeming ideas in the docs.
