we need...monsters, cmon spread your ideas

This topic basically is about what you guytsmthink would be better additions to GK for monsters, types, and such. Like a while ago i posted about kingdom-exclusive monsters, since i noticed one of the problems is lack of variations within monsters, their difficulty levels, attack strength, and such, the majority is easily slain after a small time period. Anyone got any ideas???

I'm still debating on a few of these BUT I these are what i rumaged through my brain and thought of:
2 versions of Chimera angel and a devil

(Personally, a more beastly version of wolf for the wolves)

--Dragons(varying types)
((2nd note, for My sisters sake, she suggested that there should be enemy dragons and pet-like dragons, serve sorta the same premesis as horses, except last longer on les food, AND only have one designated owner, also ahve certain armor for dragons that gives em different abilities, it sounds ALOT like this show she watches, dragon booster))
Sorta tree-like enemy(can't think of the name for em)
Sharks(you slay em and the item is auto-added to inventory)

I think your thinking of Dryad, which is absolutely ridiculous. Dryad's are peaceful tree spirits, not demonic tree lords.

Sharks, I could see.

Dragons.... this is GK, not LoTR

...Okay, never said anything about PEACEFUL tree spirits, by some of the older hist of GK, these evil bomys posessed and controlled plants and animals..so why are the trees so peaceful??
second off dragons rule, unless their those cute, cartoony plagues, why mix em up with that LoTR crap???

Now this isn't JUST to critique some of the stuff i was thinking about but post some of YOUR ideas of good monsters.

Funny that so many people don't know about the monsters that were originally supposed to exist on Kingdoms...

actually

i have submitted many monster ideas.
one of them were elemental ones.
example. if it were an ice monster it was immune to ice spells. fire would total it.

I've submitted ideas about winged monsters where you use a bow to fight it.
Or lure it on the ground by evading it's swooping attacks.
Sea monsters that harm your ship and you can fight back with spells or cannons.

But the staff got their hands full at the moment.
hopefully it will be done.
what we really need though is monster AI
All they do is fight you and either kill you or die.

If they actually retreated when low on hp, call for help and so on it would make the game interesting. Of course we'd need more items that are fairly decent just for the new players because it would be unfair on them, but it means they'd have to travel in a party to level up.

Ok. So you decided what he was talking about, and then yelled at him for what you assumed he meant? Wow. Good job.

There are tons of dragons in LoTR. Actually, there are none. There is one in The Hobbit, perhaps that is what you're thinking of.
On another note, Tolkien, believe it or not, did not invent the dragon. You're attempt at elitist idea hatred was a complete failure.

Funny, because Ents fit very well into GK, and were supposed to, as a matter of fact. And they have a place where they can belong, thankfully.

The Hobbit

Prequel to the LoTR series.

There is a way to yell without actually yelling. It's called having harsh undertones.

In text, the following:

is about as harsh as one can be. But a nice attempt at ignoring the part of my post that actually mattered.
That'd be the part where I show how you put words in another's mouth and then chastized him for 'speaking' them.

Again, it'd be nice to have some enemies that didn't just charge at you blindly and attack until they die. Maybe something with some sort of battle tactics?

Monster ideas:
Goblin (there's a goblin monster type already in existence, but there's no goblin, for some odd reason)(would simply melee with weapons; monster strength would be in the skeleton range)
Conjurer (would summon random monsters to aid in battle, as well as cast spells; monster strength would be in the lord range)
Polygon (small, geometric, floating mechanisms that attack by swinging orbiting shapes at you; monster strength in the skeleton range)
Chameleon (would have a drain attacktype when attacking with its tongue; monster strength in the T-rex range)

Monster NPC ideas:
Pursue-would chase down weakened foe (good for preventing newbs from getting away from shell bomies XD)
Cautious-would attack while trying to get away from a foe stronger than itself
Strong-would use strongest attacks, especially in excellent shape
Retreat-would run away from foe when in terrible shape; the next step down from cautious.
Evasion-attacking, while moving, to avoid enemy attacks.

It's BULL**** what you are talking...who would GFX that **** please? (sorry for those expressions)

You always say "MAKE THAT, THAT ,THAT AND THAT! ITS SO EZ!"

Why don't you stop whining and start GFXing 100 Dragons and more than 10 different armors for them? Hm?

Omg...

Ya know, Elk has a point. GFXing, in my view, looks very hard, and Elk seems to agree with me on that.

There's kindness when making GFXs someone suggested, but begging for them deserves what Elk said (except without the hundred dragons and the armor types).

There are a lot of enemies that have existed for Kingdoms for a long time now. Those really need to be finished before anything else is. But the thing is, those enemies will take quite some time to complete at any rate.

Artificial intelligence isn't something easily scripted, nor is it easy on the server.
Would you like to guess how much the people who programmed the pathing AI of Warcraft III were payed?

It's just a thought, in case someone's willing to give making those AIs a try. While GK lacks many vital things lots of others MMORPGs have, I'm patient, and I'll keep playing.

sage
City dweller
dragon hatchling
*** Snow Glok ***
behemoth
Posessed fire cannonball
hill giant

Any of these sound familiar to any of you??? and also I don't try to make this sound so easy, and if i have or am i'm sory. What i am trying to do is trying to find some good ideas to build some work off of, i mean if mypersonal work seems to suck i'm trying to appeal to the people ok. But apparently either way this is a friggen tough path cause i got insults flying in from every direction, so you guys seriously tell me then. i am only asking, and i never said this sh** was any easy.

I didn't say we needed an extremely complex AI, but a monster should be able to realize "Hey! I'm almost dead! Maybe I shouldn't charge blindly at this person anymore, and try to avoid them!" or at least not attack head on all the time.

I just can't stand your stupidity man. Pathing AI is relatively easy, it needs to be optimized quite a bit, I guarantee you the "A LOT" was around 50k - 90k a year paycheck, probably without royalties when game went gold, not to mention it covered a lot more than pathfinding, and 6-10 hours of programming per day, 6 day weeks. Please... just stop talking like you know anything, until you research it.
