I can't remember a good war to be honest. All battles are done by sea, invading other boats etc.
Why would K-mode cause a conflict? I don't understand..
K-mode would cause conflict because wars could happen in a fun manner. One person couldn't dominate the battlefield and everyone could enjoy it.

It's like this, lets say there are two belligerent nations: The United States of America and the Duchy of Luxemburg. Obviously America would win the war so Luxemburg wont invade America. However lets say America and Luxemberg were totally equal in every aspect, and Luxemberg wanted to invade America. Wouldn't they?

K-mode is similiar to chess, everyone is equal however how you play out your plan will forge the victor and the defeated. B-mode is like a demolition derby where you're in a '67 chevy car that will hardly start (much less go foward) and you're against that two story monster truck.

But not to replace b mode, that would take away the point of the current system. (can someone who is suggesting this say whether k-mode would only be used for wars?)
K-mode went away late 2003 or early 2004 methinks. K-mode was shown by the icon over the player's head (those icons in the GUI). And K-mode would be used for roleplaying events such as wars. It also requires both kingdoms to know a war is going to happen so they can make sure people are online.

Just a sudden thought...but would it be possible for people to just enter k-mode automatically when they enter a kingdom island, and k-mode would only be possible on a kingdom island, thus when they leave the kingdom island map they would return to thier normal power + enter b mode of p mode whichever they were in before they entered? I think this would be the answer to both problems.

In brief, here's how it would work:

- You can be on either pmode or bmode while on kmode as well.
- Your kingdom and the kingdoms you're fighting can't be attacked by interlopers. (I.E. if Forest and Dust were in a battle, Sam members on bmode couldn't just rush up and kill people in Forest going, OMG WE PWNED YOU SURRENDER KINGDOM!!1!)
- When you are on-tag, (And you are in a kingdom with enemies) you are in kmode. When you are off, you're on pmode or bmode again. No loss of stats, and you can still beat people up to your heart's content.
- When in kmode, you are even with everyone else in terms of stats / damage / etc. In doing so, there is a greater chance for more intense fights to break out, as well as people actually planning their attacks on other kingdoms wisely instead of letting the resident high-levels do all the work. Leaders will have to show more influence over their members to gain a victory rather than just pulling a one-man show, and there would even be tactics employed such as defending your leaders, even though on GK right now, they might not need defending.

It's possible... it would be an immediate for things too.

It would stop the small skirmishes on the main island, but I'm sure we can scarfice those

Well that's the point. Sure you can roleplay outside of kingdoms, however those are the main hubs and we should fix the kingdoms before we worry about something like the Nighthawks.

I can just see people on main island going into k-mode to protect themselves and give them a equal chance to the attacker, which of course wouldn't be fair on the person with leet uber ownage level would it? gotta keep everyone happy, i'd like it more if it was kept just to the kingdom islands, then there is still a problem of who wins a war? there needs to be a way to keep dead people away from the island after they have been killed, or just maybe declare the war over when the leader of the kingdom is killed that would bring some more tactics into it, although castle doors would need to be able to be broken.

Kingdom islands, I wouldn't mind. But as Craig said, 'keep everyone happy'.

Why not just, yaknow, have the kingdom mode toggler where it used to be? On the kingdom islands? And the leader of a kingdom could ring the bell to turn all, that's right, all of the kingdom members over to k-mode for a war.

Stefan had good intentions when he merged kingdom-mode and battle-mode, but the fear of the time did in fact come to pass - roleplaying was slowly lost and game mechanic PKing became the norm.

Yeah that would work to
