Ok, let's say that Zurkiba practiced the art of swordplay ever since he was 5 years old, and Raziel has been making shoes since who cares when, and without any physically demanding activity to keep him in shape. One day, Zurkiba and Raziel get in a fight, and they pull out their swords. Obviously, Zurkiba, who has spent most of his life perfecting his sword skills, is going to beat the crap out of Raziel, who has never touched a real sword in his life. Obviously, on GK now, Raziel who has been leveling heavily, will beat the crap out of Zurkiba who is stuck back in the day with level 8.

Edit: Har har looking back at the posts, I see it's my fault this post has gone astray xD

I guess, but I don't see the point in that post. What're you trying to address?

I'm trying to say that leveling can be part of roleplaying. It is your character practicing hard to become a better swordsman, magician, alchemist, etc.

Yes, I agree with that.

Except that doesn't work with the current mechanics of Graal.
An adept wizard should be able to smoke any mediocre swordsman from a distance, but the way things are now, all they have to do is keep stabbing you, and your spells are useless. The way GK is, game mechanics and RP don't mix.

Well, can you point me to a period of time when magic spells existed? No? Well then, we have no idea as to their power and usability, and GK can define that as it pleases.

Ironically, the link provided directs you to a post by *unixmad NOT on how GK is for the RPers, rather the topic is game mechanics.

StrykerTFFD will become famous soon enough
Either you didn't read the second quote in Zurk's post...or are blind. It addresses the RP sense GK is suppose to have. So the first link provided, although about game mechanics, lists a great deal of things that are suppose to better the RP feel. They are also things that were promised and not delivered!

Have a...nah you don't deserve a cookie.

I'm ignoring your insults, but I'll take you up on the dissection of the second quote, here goes:

"...battling monsters..." monsters give you exp
"...collecting treasures..." plat, diamonds, items, just guessing here
"...role play and chat..." let me draw your attention to the word *chat* right after role play
"...protect kingdoms, battle in tournaments, compete in events..." hmmm tournaments, fun! I'd best go lvl so I have a chance of winning! Events, yippee! Hope the prize is a nice item
"...and much more..." [self explanatory]

I don't see "this server is for the RPers" in the quote.
