why not introduce weekly achievements?

earn x amount of kills
earn x amount of gang points
dig x amount of shells

in a week period:
earn 50 kills, get one achievement coin.
earn 150 kills, get 2 achievement coins.
earn 300 kills, get 3 achievement coins.

after the week is over, it resets.

"permanent" achievements will be worth a lot more, but you will still be able to replenish your coins through weekly rewards. wouldn't be a bad idea.
