The wand and targeting system has been rescripted.
A couple of bugs have been fixed:
- You don't lose a target after a player leaves your level on the map.
- You will never have to reconnect to be able to select players anymore (was randomly happening before).
- The cast delay now applies to hotkeys and when selecting in the spell menu.
- Targeting should always be good now.
- Cone spells (banishment, etc.) won't go off course when targeting an NPC anymore.
The autotarget feature has been removed. I don't plan to add it back as it was fairly useless (randomly selecting doesn't really give you control), but if someone has a good idea for a better one I will consider it.
There are also some changes which magic users will like:
- You can now hold down the mouse button and drag it on the screen to select a target. This makes it infinitely easier to target a moving player.
- You now have an extra 1.5 tiles on all sides of players to target them, which makes quick targeting much easier.
- If you double-click, the spell is always targeted at your mouse position, but you won't lose your target. Pressing 's' or using a hotkey will always send to the target. This lets you strategically cast things like wall of thorns.
It seems to be working well, but please report any bugs you find to me and I'll fix them as fast as I can.
