I highly doubt it, you could still play without gold but you'll be capped once you reach level 10 and you haven't even done that. Stop posting here if you have nothing to contribute to the topic and stop being annoying.

I have played GK before, I think I got a pony at some point, but the observer mode was unbearable. Tried to build a boat, but it required gold to actually complete the boat.

There is no longer observer mode. You are just capped at level 10.
