Question Prices should be based on. . .!

Prices should be based on how active the Graal community is.

Meaning, since the community was cut by 60+% for the passed 2-3years, the price should be 50% lower than what it is now. I mean, right now you offer a small community for such a high price. Go ahead and up the price ONCE theres a lot more people since there would be a lot more to offer. Honestly, these high prices are a complete turn off to people who are new to Graal.

Thoughts?

prices should just be at a stable, fair amount. The current prices are way too high for a game as outdated as this one.

True. Stefan should just bring back the lifetime classic option, and the old "gold system" back. Isn't he making enough money from iGraal or w.e it's called?

Why are you mofo's still paying this guy? Everyone makes fun of me for being trial but I guess its better than paying to be bored on a crappy game?

If everyone would just stop paying him, then he will be forced to lower the prices, or he will just close the PC version of the game. Sounds like he's already leaning towards option number 2 to be honest.

Addiction. Addiction. Addiction.

He's making enough from iGraal or w.e. Why would he bother lower the prices on this game?

He's already mentioned a couple of times that he's looking to change the pricing model to item-based and server game-play specific upgrade bonuses like GK, Zone, and Zodiac are now.

That would be great. Most of MMO's work like that now.

sorry, I will elaborate for the person who called me a simple minded dwarf, lol. $.99 optional purchases (~$.70 after Apple's cut) where only ~30% of the players are actually investing in the upgrades (stefan's words at around the time purchases were made available; that could have changed) is not getting them rich.

Stop *****ing because Stefan has said more than once that he plans to change the pricing system.

Based on my personal conversations with Stefan, I've been told their iPhone sales are hugely successful - and in extension, their paid content.

I understand that maybe the playercount dropping causes it harder to get the revenue needed to sustain a game like Graal, but I'm pretty sure raising the price isn't the answer to such a dilemma. Charging your faithful customers more helps how?

It has already been done several times.

What I don't get -- and I've said it over and over again -- is how $2 for life on iPhone Graal can be such an amazing cash cow, when $20 for life on PC Graal was apparently unsustainable?

PC might've made a lot of money but it doesn't mean the money stays forever you know.

The prices just need to go down...I don't know why they haven't gone down yet.

New players have no incentive to pay for this game...

People from iPhone graal have no incentive...on iPhone, the only limitation they have is a change of looks.
There was a slew of iPhone players on UN today.

But they have no reason to pay...the only thing they really want to do is change their look.

On iPhone, if they want to change their look...they pay a dollar.
If they want to change their look on the pc? 65 dollars.....

Something is very very wrong with that picture.

Edit: And Observer mode isn't even much of a problem....there are servers trials can play on without having to worry about observer.
So, if you take away observer mode...what is left of the advantages to paying?
Well...you get access to UC playerworlds...but, is that really an advantage? If your not going to develope...whats the point.

So, all thats left as far as advantages to paying? Being able to set your head and body outside the trial limitations...

Congratulations Stefan, you have made a game where it costs over 50 dollars to change the look of your character!

It is a huge problem. Just because one or two(literally) servers don't have it doesn't mean it's not a problem. As GK and Zodiac can attest to, you can create better incentives for players to upgrade than annoying the **** out of them(and the scripters). Also, you assume if they removed observer mode, something better couldn't replace it.

Observer mode sucks ass. Period.

I wasn't saying it isnt a huge problem...because it is. I know that.

But, there still arent enough incentives to upgrade.

I'm not familiar with what zodiac has done to replace observer...idk what the incentives are there.
But its difficult for some servers to create incentives for players.
For zodiac, they could cap levels, make some armor not available, etc.

But servers like UN...cap the number of items you can have? Limit hats? Only a certain number of events per day?

Theres only so much you can do...which is why the old trial system, of just not being able to save, was much better...at least then you could customize your character and play the damn server without interruption from observer mode...

Edit: Even with more incentives to upgrade...I don't think any number of incentives are worth the prices Graal charges. =/

Didn't say they were, but Stefan has already said he's planning on changing them with V6 so this thread is a black-hole discussion. So really all we can do is wait and see.

As I indicated, I didn't expect an immediate response - I think that's in my first line.

I qualified my statements with all of the trivial excuses someone might try if they wanted to evade a question. It's pretty complex stuff.

the current account naming system doesn't help either. now you're overpaying for a ****ty graal labeled account. it certainly would prevent me from buying a new account.

In my opinion the price needs to drop. If they price were to drop than they would gain a lot more members. I'm not really too joyful to ask my friends to play a game with me that costs so much money for the quality, especially since the servers are not even run by professional staff.

It seems as if they don't even care about Graal PC anymore. They don't offer a referral for rewards system, they haven't put out ads as far as I know... I'm surprised its still open for play.

the price has to drop or go away if the game is going to have a long term future. if someone has never played before and sees that price its going to be an instant turn off even if there is a trial system to try the game. the community hasn't been abandoning the graal because of game-play its because it cost to much for its perceived value.

Lime_O_Matic is on a distinguished road
Why doesn't he just open the old classic forever accounts for a short ammount of time? Like 2-3 Months where people can buy classic for 20-30 USD. I'm pretty sure every person who plays a server like Era, Zodiac, or Unholy Nation and doesnt' have a permanent would buy ATLEAST one account. I know I'd buy an account just incase my friend decides to join later and not spend a fortune. I also agree with Frankie (Up about 10 posts) that players miss naming their accounts. It gives you diversity and no one wants to be a random number like other players. I would more likely buy another account if I could name it something I pefer.

Would anyone mind pointing to where Stefan said he was changing the pricing system in v6? I'd like to see that!
