Talking Linux Wine: GRAALEDITOR.EXE

Well after playing with dlls, wine regedit, and wine config. I finally got it working it actully works quite nicely sometimes you'll get an error scrolling on the level but everything else is really just minor like you can't see the selected tab's except the main tiles one.

Update: to use the GraalEditor.exe, you will need a working installation of the Windows Graal, download the editor from the serverlist screen (Start -> Install Packages), and then use wine to start GraalEditor.exe. We might also make the editor downloadable directly to the Linux Graal installation (~/.graal/graal4) in the future.

When I get my own computer, I will have both linux and windows on it (if you do this, make sure to put windows in first, then linux, as windows will delete other files....ah the monopolistic views of Microsoft).
Anyone else use this setup?

No, it won't. Windows will not touch any other partitions than the one you are setting up on.

Installing Windows, however, will destroy the information left by bootloaders and so should never be installed second. Due to Microsoft's monopoly on operating systems, most computers have Windows on them before anyone contemplates installing Linux, so you may have to repartition your hard disk - that is, divide what may be a hard disk with only one large partition (known as C: in the Windows world) into two or more different partitions so that Linux can be installed and kept separate from Windows.

You can easily rewrite the boot record to allow booting linux.

Ah, thanks.
Personally, it's a lot more work to put linux on your computer x_X
Still going to do it, but only after a lot of research, and very carefully XD

If you write yourself a boot floppy when you install your Linux distribution, then if Windows overwrites the boot record, then you could boot using that floppy to open your Linux setup and then rewrite the boot loader.

If you're using the LILO bootloader, then you should just be able to rewrite it using the 'lilo' command.

I always have my computer boot Linux and Windows. I've installed it both ways without it "deleting other files". You just need to know what you're doing and install it on the right partition.

It still is. Beats my mind why a thread is stickied when the urls in it doesn't work anymore. Any mod care to explain that?

Also, last time I checked, you dont have to do any of the stuff mentioned in the newer versions of wine. Just install wine, then install Graal > GraalEditor on wine, and just run it. As easy as that.
