I thought it was a "rifle," not a cannon.
Take a look at some other gun handles; generally, the handles of the rifle weapons or the bigger, "photon" like guns. They're mostly slanted, short, skinny and they have a specific point that helps the wielder hold the weight of the gun with two hands effectively (one on handle, one under barrel, you get my point, right?) Also, your gun has no stock. You'll need a stock if it's going to have crazy recoil, or you're going to hurt yourself more than the enemy you're shooting at.
