hi here is my idea

NPC kings
instead of having stupid people as kings that do nothing (ie. Asuka) instead you have NPC kings
the highest rank should be some sort of Knight/Warrior Leader. That way the NPC King (and royalty and advisors) take care of the rest. People just command others in battles.

You would need commands:

War - X amount of people say War <kingdom name>. A server flag is set, the kingdom being warred with automatically becomes at war with the declarer.

Ally - X amount of people say Ally <name>. But the otherside must accept this by having X amount of people saying accept to the king.

The King would be an object to guard/kidnap/kill when you are at war. Also any bridge/unpassable object must alwas be open, or there should be an alternative route (ie going in the sewers in Dustari). Capture their NPC king and win. THe king should have NPC guards, and it should be challenging, unlike "run by all the people and go straight to the king".

The rest would just be small details.

it would be so cool to have everyone surround a castle and hide under bushes
then war is declared and the castle that is declared on all get the message and if someone is in the castle, he can to guild

all of a sudden the guys hiding in the bush jump out and storm the castle

but i think the people declared war on would need sometime to prepare so maybe their gate should be closed, but then it "breaks" as in the invading force well breaks it

The commander(s).
Although he will have the power to recruit and dismiss, he doesnt have anything more than that.

for war and stuff, the amount of your kingdomites online must be close to the other kingdom, or it would be like 6 slaughters per hour and one kingdom having 20 victories in one day

i did mention that the bridge would require more scripting, right?
as in the gate that i said...gate is just the word for entrance and dustari happens to have a bridge

maybe there could be a gani (i guess) where a bunch of ropes grapple the bridge and pull it down

You know I hate for to have to come to this but maybe that is a good idea, I mean having actual kings as player could be better becuase its more fun but when things get out of hand and you have kings and kingdoms who dont RP then I guess it has to come down to this. Unless an actualy player could be king but he woudlnt have lotsa power and the thing with the declaring war and stuff would still happen and the when the king sint actually online an NPC of him would apear snoozing on the throne,
and even if he is online he can be captured cus like maybe if someone in the opposite kingdom runs up and "grabs" him i.e. used the A button then he is dragged behind them by a rope,
and just so hte king doesnt make it impossible there could be a thing making it so he isnt able to run around in circles which would be completely OOC becuase being outnumbered he woud mostlikely submit. So like if there are many more enemies then him, a timer in a system NPC ticks down and he has like 10 seconds to escape but if he doesnt escapre in that amount of time he automatically freezes and says: Ok, I give up
then someone ties him up and hauls him off.
And like people said a kigndom could have a sealable entrance like dustari but there would have to be a way to get past it,
like if it were a gate if the enemies would have to use a battering ram, and it would be a thing they all use together and work together and when they hit the gate enough it breaks,
or like someone sugested they could all manually pull out the dustari bridge, or maybe they could like somehow make a bridge across. and the defenders woud be shooting arrows trying to keep them from crossing an =d we could have seiges and stuff,
rather then its current state where battle are impossible, and most kingdoms just sit there doing nothing.....

With players as kings, Graal isn't a game. You might as well play in a Chat room then. Having NPC kings would be a big step toward making Graal more of a game.

graal is more interesting and fun with a player king,
it adds more excitement and variety to the game,
with a player king their can be heated political arguments..
and with a king there can be..
well..
heated "Im the king who are you."

the npc king should be carryable and he should try to hide when he is dropped

but once he is taken out of the gate, its a victory
(no running through the entire graal and dropping him in the river)

It would be better with a player king,
then also they could put him in a wagon...
haul him off to their castle and excecute him,
or they could even humiliate him more by excecuting him infront of his own castle and soldiers...
like I said player kings could be good as long as certain standards and restricrions are set so that the guilds still fight and P and stuff rather then sit on their lazy tushes

That would mean the king is very *** and then a Kingdom Admin would remove him from his position and obliterate his character by striking him down with special lighting!!!!!!!!!

The beauty of it is that it limits the power of people in the kingdom while maintaining a reliable leader. Only 1 kingdom in history has maintained a reliable leader for a long time, and that would be the Pirate Crew.

Although, Tyealia, in the last 5 days hasn't lost Cloud X. Good job so far! [grumble]

Not the mention the fact that in my idea whenever the king is not logged on he is replaced by an NPC of himself sleeping,
if he wa son the throne it is sitting on the throne sleepng,
if he was standing up then it is lying in the middle of the floor sleeping like a drunkard,
so he could still be captured even if he is not online and then he would work as an NPC being as if whenever he was dropped or whateve rhe would scramble to get away..
and if the king took his tag off the almighty not yet existing kingdom admins would kill him

As Dante pointed out Ghost Pirate has remained a relaible leader and if he is replaced by a dumb NPC sitting their dtealing ym qoute and saying I Aaarrrrrrrrrre a pirate!

also an NPC leader can steer a boat or actually help us in a sea battle so it would suck

having about 6 commas and 7 "ands" doesnt help
you sound like a retard and keep touching on small issues that need to be worked out

similarly, no kingdom would really want to take over the pirate boat
and ghost pirate would still be a reliabe commander of troops

That would be stupid if dumb npc replaced Ghost Pirate. Someone with a very empty brain would replace him. And im hoping nothing like that would never happen.

I honestly don't like the idea. Now I'm going to get flamed but feivel is right, it's not fun at all. People will find some sort of loop hole or something to abuse the whole NPC system. Even though it's more reliable I think that having a human leader adds much more variety.
Having a king NPC is just taking away fun.

But I could say it would divide power and make for more reliable leadership.

Actually, yesterday he came up to Tyealia to chat with us. And I am sure he get bombarded with PM's so staying in the castle would be wise. But anyway that is not the point.

If you guys truly want a good leader, why not try something less intense, why not set up some sort of democratic system NPC? Suppose every month or so an NPC let's people campaign for Monarchy, then everyone can vote. If you like the current leader because he RP's and does stuff, then vote him back in. If you think he is just wasting his time then vote for someone else who runs for Monarchy.

#1 why would staying in the castle be better, because of PMs?

#2 Regardless of the leader, he/she cant be on 24/7 and kingdoms should be capable of warring 24/7.

#3 Im not in a kingdom because they are just power abused pos's right now so why would i vote for a leader?

Hello Jinn, please do not talk about things that are not true, seeing as how, as I have said many many times, that Miru is rarely, if ever, used anymore. And yes, I may sit around, but that is because I am working on Dustari, not just sitting around doing nothing. If someone wants to get into Dustari, one of my members checks it out with me to see if it's a non-hostile person. If it is, we'll lower the bridge. If not, then we have no reason to lower it.
