I can't see attachments

they won't show up in posts, but i do see the attachment links in quotes of that post.
I've used the search button, and angelu i believe had the same problem in 2007, but there wasn't any solution supplied in the thread so here i ask again,
is there a way to fix the fact that attachments wont show up?

User CP -> Edit Options -> Make sure the "Show Images" box is checked

My only guess though. No idea what it could be otherwise..

It's about attachments, things in [IMG] tags arent attachments, anyways, it was checked, and sometimes when i refresh the page they do appear, but not always.

Well, it says "including attached images and images in [IMG] code", so I assumed it could've been it
