Folder Backups

Staff should have accounts and other folders through the file browser. We should have access to the last five days or so, in case, for example, one of Era's more mistake-prone admins accidentally resets someone.

Right now the only way to get even a single player's file is by getting Stefan, which can take forever.

At the very least, PWAs should have access to this.

Those renting servers especially should have access to these, since staff corruption is very common on UC worlds.

There is no reason the owners of playerworlds and the PWAs shouldn't be able to access backups from at least a few days ago.

I'm all for this because I actually have had a ticket in the past few days come in regarding someone being reset. Investigations aside, there's no way I can "unreset" them should they be found to have been wrongly/mistakenly reset.

Novice is an unknown quantity at this point

Would be cool to see this, everything compiled into a .zip for every day, a similar access to the accounts/ folder, only high admins (and even more, only the Manager) has access.

Exhausted is infamous around these parts
Obviously the staff who is about to reset someone should save the player's attributes in their comments for awhile just in case something comes up.

Depending on the server, this can be a problem since some values of variables get cut off by the text length limit.

But it would probably be nice if the server took a backup automatically before it actually reset the account.

What I mean is, they meant to disconnect the player, and reset them by accident.

You'd think the prompt to stop them from resetting would be enough to prevent it from happening.

Well ... it was 4 AM, and I didn't plan to add a disconnect reason. I clicked and hit enter, then looked at RC and said

Is there a prompt for disconnecting someone? I can't remember and I don't want to test it out...

LOL, I did this once on Zodiac. Looking back its funny, but when it actually happens, you feel bad because you only meant to disconnect them.

I agree, that for cases like this, atleast PWAs or administrative staff should have access to a few days back, or atleast some sort of thing where it backs up reset players into a folder.

This way if someone gets reset by accident or some incompetent staff gets angry and deletes everything, you don't have to wait for help from Stefan.

If you just want to disconnect somebody won't it be much easier and safer to use the /dicsonnect accountname in rc chat?

Of course it would be, when you know their account name and/or feel like typing out Graal234509783908424242^232*21 (exaggeration of course but it is annoying at times.)
