RC comments

If a player does not have the right "Change comments", he/she can't even read comments - I find this rather stupid. Anyone with RC should be able to read them, and only those with "Change comments" be able to change them.

Thoughts?

Yes, sounds great. Right now they can only read their own, which is nice, but they should be able to read everyones.

That would require changing the external RC, which won't happen as far as I know.

In any case, I don't see why you wouldn't let people view rights, if you have secure information, keep it in a text file somewhere.

Maybe there is secret information stored in some of the comments that regular staff don't need to know.

If we keep going down this path, the idea will turn into "Rights for specific comment names"

EG: r COMMENTS/TSAdmin or rw COMMENTS/Tigairius or rw COMMENTS/*

Not sure that too many people would like to walk that path.

Thats silly. Change comments is something thats handed out to just about any staff person easily. We don't need to be storing secret information in comments, thats stupid.

Well that's why I couldn't get "change comments" rights on GK debug, so I'm just throwing it out there.

MysticX2X will become famous soon enough
I'm confused as to what his idea was. Ziros idea was nice even though the situation was brought up before.

Perhaps globals store notable info on certain people there but that wouldn't be the case elsewhere.
