Remote mines

I was thinking it would be fun to play with remote detonated mines. I have a balenced system for them and I will elaborate if their is any intrest so tell me what you think.

Wasn't there a thread somewhere where someone posted a thread saying "pr0xi3s r l@m3rz n0 1nv1blepl0x?" Why would you want to add even MORE annoying mines? What would remote mines do if you can see them? If you run over the land mines they automatically explode. No idiot is going to get close to your mines so you can blow them up.

These mines would be visible so you would have to hide them under stuff personally no problems with them and zone players really are stupid in general no offence to you guys at all becuase im one of you

Also some times i just walk over proxies or bike mines for the fun of it lol

Yes, you can hide the mines behind boxes and such but, what's the point if you could use regular land mines?

heres another Remote mine Cenario:

Player 1:Lets go to Irica.
Player 2:Ok.

(Player 1 Go to Sweep Fleet)
(Player 2 Go to Storm Riders)

Player 1: (PM) Lets meet at B3
Player 2: (PM) Ok.

(They arrive at B3)

Player 1:ima go AFK.
Player 2:ok.

(as Player 1 goes AFK, player 2 pulls out a remote mine.)

Player 1

Still AFK)
Player 2:Your 500 Bounty is mine.

(Player 2 lays the mine)

Player 1: Back.
Player 2: ok stay there, ima brb.

(Player 2 detonates the mine)

Player 1: OMG WTF?
Player 2: Musta been someone else's Mine.

You could do the exact same thing with land mines and proxies. If they even move a tiny bit when a mine is placed under them they're boned.

Aren't proxmines better anyway? I mean you can't see proxmines. They will blow up when you come near them.

actually remote detonated mines sound fun. Have them visible though and limit them to certain areas they can't be in like behind barrels or boxes to make it a bit more fair.

Heres how It would work. They would be inviable and the game wouldn't warn you about them but they could be picked up by a mine detector as well as destroyed by bombs. Every class would have them but you can only win them in an event or buy them with gelets and when you detonate, all of them blow up regardless of were on the map they are. If someone doesn't detonate them within 10 minutes they behave like a normal mine and become viable. Oh and they only do 15 damage.

Oh it would still be a little better then proxies because you can wait until a lot of people are standing over them and take out 20 lamers at once wile with proxies you can only kill one or two people.

Knightmare just missed a letter, not that bad...Most of the spelling erros (hehe) are just people who miss a letter or push the wrong one... Or push twei ... two in a row and then push the wrong one.

they do but to bad u couldnt attatch mines to the side of.....maybe bikes so when u run in to plp they would go boooom hahaha but it would hurt the bike any besides the dmg it would take from hitting something..... or like the remote mines u could stick it on a opponets bike, but they dont explode and when they think they are getting away you can activate the mine and they would blow up... dont that sound grand!!!!!

Unless the explosives would last a few seconds there's no point. For a mine to kill someone they need to step on it. Why would you use a remote mine if they have to get close to it? If they lasted a few seconds on the other hand you could use it has an escape. If someone's following you, you can press a button and an explosion erupts for 5 seconds so they couldn't follow you.

Remote mines could be fun, I don't see any real problem with having them. It's like having a proximine except you get to dictate it's life span.

Is it me, or does that sound kind of unfair...? Btw Colin, it's nice that you TELL us you have a "balence" system, but it would be better if you told us what it is...

No, because proxis would blow up right away and they wouldn't die due to that little 3 second invincibility they get when they spawn in. Remote mines could wait to a set time and then blow up. Hence why Zeru's little plan is brilliant. I could see them blocking ladders and then laying waste to the poor noobs =p

No, that's called a PROX MINE... The remote mine is basically a C4 Charge, which is actually a good name to call it if they decide to put the lame thing in...

Not really because with a remote detonated mine you can strategically detonate it so as to be able to take out multiple players with the same group of mines.
