Events Team

This thread is for suggestions on what the events team can do to help improve GK. I was going to post a list of my event ideas on Tigairius's thread, but as I was typing it Sam closed the thread.

As this is the suggestions forums, I see no reason why this thread should suffer the same fate.

ANY ideas for improvement are welcome.


How about this- Plan for and announce events. People WILL come then.

Also, host more complex events than raffles and labrynth. Spar tournaments aren't such a bad idea, but after a while, you're just helping the most powerful players become more powerful.

We already have a soccer field and a go-kart track. Let's make more use of that.

Here's some other ideas that leave balance for powerful and weak players:

-Boat battles (There's no reason why pirates should be the only ones doing this)
-Collect a list of items (i've seen this done on GK long ago...not sure if it's still done)
-GK Trivia
-Zeppelin race
-Horse race
-Treasure hunt (bury bags.. or let a monster in the HH or underground dungeon pickup an item, so players have to kill him for it...)
-Boat race/battle (go from one side of the world to the other, first to make it wins, but you can destroy your competition)

there should be an indoor horse track where you have to be on a horse to enter, and you can't get off your horse until you leave. a lot of people run faster than there horses. Who's to say they won't just jump off play follow song and run most of the way?

As for the rest they are very good ideas. GK Trivia is nice as long as the questions have to do with gk, and you switch up between short answer and multiple choice. Or, do all short answer. I also said there should be a system where you pm your answer to the npc server. The NPC server will then send a message with the account that won the point. The npc server cannot lie. Jagen had something like this one time.

About trivia... the idea is for questions to be about GK and GK today, rather than history. This way there's balance for old players, new players (well, maybe not TOO new, since they don't really know anything about GK... but that can't be helped; there's other events for them anyways), strong players, weak players, etc...

As for the horse track. I think it would be easier to use the script labrynth has where everyone walks slow. This way if they get off the horse, it'll only make them lose.

Boat battle can be done.
Collecting items I have done in the past 6-8 months
Trivia is kinda hard to do because lots of new people usually attend the events
Zeppelin...well thats an idea to put into the game (problem would be people getting the items together for it)
Horse racing was taken out. Not everyone can get a horse right away. We would need to plan it about a week in advance just to pull it off.
Treasure hunt I do also. Last one I believe was for Shield of Amadola and Dragonhide gloves.
Boat race/battle sounds good..could have a official Regatta

for the horse race idea. if you built an indoor horse racing track. you could make a horse spawn like the gocart track. Just make it so the horses cann't leave the building.
