Zooming out

Does anyone know if there's any way to zoom out the level, like what the flying technology does, but without actually using flying technology?

On Clientside, use player.zoom = .5;
That will give you half the size.
I'm not quite sure but I'm pretty sure it will.

No way, or else they wouldn't need to introduce flying technology.

I tried messing around with level stuff yesterday, and was sadly disappointed that you couldn't rotate the level

Yeah, this is my sole reason for wanting flying tech because I want to do an entire canvas zoom rather then zooming individual objects (a tilelayer.zoom would be nice too but would probably need like an offsetx/offsety or so to not look funny at times).

If you are wondering how I "did it", I really didn't do anything on my server other then make the player smaller. The graphics I use just are all 32x32 so it gives the illusion that everything is zoomed out. I want flying tech so I can reverse this process and zoom everything back to normal size while keep the integrity of 1024 icons per level ^_^.

Oh and, I guess this is a "hi I'm back from my 3 week graal-made-me-mad escapade".

Yeah, v5 really messed a bunch of things up for my server but I think I fixed all of it (except the horrible lag I now get around particle and light effects which I can't seem to do anything about). The inventory I didn't fix though (that was a problem with v4 too, I dunno what is causing it but reconnecting or resizing the Graal window usually fixes it).

I've heard rumors that Flying Technology won't be available for all servers. Anyone know if this is true? Because Maniaman honestly expects me and Stan to make our own. :<

Good luck with that... Unless you plan to entirely emulate tiles, you won't be able to do it. You should just tell Mania to ask Stefan himself if Maloria can include that in their planning or if the idea should just be scrapped all together.

Well he knows we can't zoom out without new script features, but he wants us to just make the flying vehicles invisible (except for a shadow) for people on the ground when it's above a certain z height. It's possible, I suppose, but I can't think anyone who would want to script that.

Yeah, but what about hiding the players that are ON the flying object. Although, I guess that could be done easily with the player.alpha that we now have.
