Smile Poker Texas Hold'em (on Serverlist)

Poker Texas Hold'em is now available for Gold and VIP players - click on the Games World or on the Games tab to play it!

Rules (short overview):
Each player receives two cards which
are only visible to him/her. Together with the 5 cards in the middle
of the table you need to form a hand that is stronger than
the hands of the other players. But those cards are only revealed after
some rounds of betting. Choose wisely if you call (bet the same amount
the previous player was betting), raise your bet, or fold your hand to
not risk loosing your money to an even better opponent.

Up to 8 people can play at one table. You can play without gralats (just virtual coins), but playing for gralats is probably more interesting. You can also play versus the computer, you will see 3 random names at the table. The computer is not very intelligent right now, but it can still help to get used to the rules.

I will do a tournament this weekend, but you will need to bet your own gralats to take part (winner will be displayed on the news screen).
(and I will not give them back if I win )

What do you mean by real poker?

5 Card Draw, 7-Card stud, Omaha? There are so many different variations of poker, how can you say one is real and another isn't, he simply picked the game that is the most popular these days.

I'm looking forward to the tournament this weekend, hopefully I'll be able to get on and play. This looks like a great addition to the games list to me.

The current system can quite easily be expanded to allow other poker types, best would be to post them in the suggestion forums.

You should buy an online gaming license and let people bet real money and play the various different games. You could make loads more cash with a poker website than with Graal.

Yeah no kidding... I play hold'em online like every day and I've contributed over $5000 in rake in a couple of months of playing. (if any of you aren't aware, rake is the small fee you pay per hand to the house... the house being the online site that you're playing at)

You could literally make millions running a site like that... Problem is you need to follow a lot of procedures in order to make it legit for REAL MONEY playing. You'd need to have a decent RNG (random number generator) that matches real probabilities as closely as possible, and you'd need hella hack protection and many payment methods and better servers/customer support.

But if Stefan actually considered this he'd have to take it away from Graal because this is a game for kids to adults, and encouraging gambling in minors isn't something that will get you much praise.

If I were Stefan and I had the resources and was in the location he was at, I'd probably have made my own poker site by now.

But hey, if Unix or Stefan likes that idea they should contact me because I know the online poker world inside and out and I could give the best advice as to what would work and what would attract people the most.

But yeah... millions can be made without any real effort aside from maintenance... If they did that they could run Graal for free again and hire a full team of staff and even pay for their residence and everything.

Hmm... I liked the games before. Gave it an arcade feel, but poker just seems weird. I'll have to try it out later.
