Alice in Graal?

I am not sure if anyone understands what that means. For those that don't, Alice is an AI chatterbot that is really cool! I have WinAlice which is a basic clone but it has some neat features that the original didn't have.

Anyway, to be blunt, I think an Alice clone on graal would be cool! I could probably do it, but it would suck majorly. It would be fun to talk to an npc and hold intelligent conversations

bandwidth would be little if any to be used. if graal could set a variable that the WinAlice clone could understand it would be able to set the value which graal chats with. There would be little bandwidth used except for the text transfer

the REAL problem wouldn't be making it...it would be translating it to all the languages Graal is, and will be made in. Stefan is trying to make an auto-converter for text shown in-game, or something like that, that's why they posted those language.txt files for people to do a while ago. It would be VERY complicated to make npcs understand every language. And if they did, they'd be multi-lingual

hehe....still, and AliceNPC would be cool in and of itself. That way I could have someone to hold an INTELLIGENT conversation with instead of wasting time with annoying n00bs

basically it would be a lot of coding... and take forever to download it....
basically how you do it is you look for keywords in the sentence...
and based off of them you have to generate a sentance (it would be less coding if you generate it dynamically, so like it does it as you talk, so like umm it makes it in the script. I say that so the coding is less...)

it would take a while to scipt it but it is possable...

It should be implemented in the NPC Server so that it says something more interesting then "Sorry I'm only allowed to speak to NPC Admins".

can anyone say, "parsing"? As in interactive fiction (text games, where the player types in commands and everything is described in text, for those who have no idea of what I am talking about) parsing what the player types in....I think that is what KJS said, but in different words.
But it would take a very long time to script something like that, like everyone else here has been saying.....

Yes you can Contact AliceBotNet with your AIM or AOL. I know the creator of AliceBot, he said he will b working on it thats why it isnt online as much. There is another 1 LeknorChat3. The AliceBot is all Java scripting the site is, www.alicebot.net, Its A very amazing thing. One thing dont swear at it because the maker of Alice has a log of what everbody says to her. So Beware.
