Dear Graal Online Players/Administrators/Haters

My name is Brad and I am proud to be an American. What I am not proud to be right now is part of the graal online community. When I need assistance from a staff member they cannot understand me because they are from another country. My proposal is that we hire someone who speaks the English language as their #1 language. Not 2, not 3. Bjorn, Sam, and any other foreigners please don't respond to this since I don't care what you have to say. Anyhow, this is not a hate-thread, not making fun of anyone, and not breaking any rules so for the love of god don't close this. I don't care who the American staff member is, just hire one. Now.

I try to help out players who need helping. Though I'm just a lowly EM, I have no problems communicating with Sam, so if you feel you need an intepreter...

Anyways, Brad, something is being done. Things DO happen behind the scenes/things ARE discussed behind the scenes (out of public), you just need to wait til Stefan chooses someone (he's looking for someone).

Now, with that said, this should be closed, before this turns to a "pick me" thread (as I stated above).

Hello Brad,

although I know what problem you have there, I do not agree with the "just hire any American" part, hiring anyone is generally not a very good idea as some "gangster" who will confront me with their "english", as you call it (considering that you said you don't care what American), will help me as much as a monkey, although these nice little animals are pretty helpful, actually.
What you want is probably a person who can speak fluent English and has a general knowledge of what he's doing, which is where we get to the problem we have right now.

thank you for putting what I said into something what i wanted because i cant do that since im mad right now

Intelligent? It's not much about intelligence. An English-speaking admin would just have to be experienced on the field/know what's been going on/how things are ran on GK. Of course, they would have to be able to speak/read/type/understand proper english.

Most people from other countries don't have English as their first language or aren't online when Americans are to help us. I just assumed an American would be the best choice.

I disagree. We need an American, since a majority of the server is American.

Having the same or close timezone would benefit.

You ignored the other comment. Their online time is a major factor. If they're from Europe and are on when we are asleep it's not going to help us Americans.

My bad didn't see that. I didn't write the original post right. I'd like a fluent english speaker who lives in the correct timezone. I don't want someone who can speak English but lives in China. Thats all I want and I'm not going to argue about it since theres no reason to.

What about Canada? Mexico? South America? Are you guys not close timezone wise? Just because players are american doesn't mean staff need to be.

I have no problem to understand you. Noone would get a job on a gold server if he/she is not able to speak good english.
Just a question, but why exactly english? Graal is a game from France. So we could also use French as mainlanguage for Graal. English is only used because it's a world language most of the people can speak.

Getting rid of all people outside the U.S. on Graal is basically suicide for the game. So you have to spend a minute or two thinking about what they were trying to say. Big deal. Live with it. Not everyone fluently speaks English.

Graal was developed by Stefan a german guy.
He is the Technical Director. The Managing Director is unixmad a french guy.

The carrier of Graal is in Europe > French > Paris
GK staff: dNeonb, Schlurfy, SmallLars form Europe > Germany
Lance, Malinko, Zero Hour Damix2, MasterNuke, Raziel, REW_darklink200 from USA and Canada.

I think its a good intermixture.

Malinko = Doesn't bother getting on GK
Zero Hour = Police
Damix2 = Doesn't do anything on GK (inactive EM)
SmallLars = No clue what he does...I'm guessing he does work on debug
MasterNuke = Another inactive EM
REW_darklink200 = Another inactive EM
Raziel = A bit inactive (not as much as the other EM's)
Lance = Inactive (he hosted one event the other day after like months of being inactive and after the event he's still inactive)

GK needs a staff member that can speak/type/understand english fluently.

REW_darklink200 = Readded yesterday after a longer break on his request.

All of them except SmallLars can speak/type/understand english fluently. I hope it at last, because its their native language, but if you say they can't I have to trust you.

Sam, they are all inactive and have no power to do anything. Heck, even if they could speak/understand/type english perfectly, then that still wouldn't help.
