They have many moderators who are doing a good job moderating, so there's no need for it.

Haha. Even if we ignore the fact that most mods are selective in the rules they enforce, your argument is still vacuous. Do you think the moderators notice and address infractions at the very instant that they occur? No matter how sycophantic you want to be, you have to acknowledge that the moderation process could be expediated if the users were permitted to help.
