New items

These are things we have planned to add on Zone, post your opinions and ideas and eventually gfx!

Turrets: there are fixed mounted types which shoot at any person that comes close to it, or only at enemies (in the home bases of the teams), and there are mobile ones which can be bought in the shop and placed on the ground at any position, they shoot automatically at any enemy;
both types can be destroyed (with explosion of course), but the mounted one respawns after a few minutes

Medkits: this should let you heal team members or yourself, needs ganis and item graphics, can be an important part of the game play, e.g. people with medkits rushing to team members using the hover bikes

Tank Vehicle: those need graphics for noth/south direction, several players can go into it (invisible when being inside), it has very good protection, but is slower than a player, good for bringing team members behind the enemy lines

Jetpack: this lets you fly above your enemies for a few seconds (until the energy is out), the movement is similar to the hover bikes, except that you don't bounce at walls

Wall Constructor: the graphics are made, needs a placement script

Bio-Grenades: once exploded, some worms or snakes come out of it and are seeking enemy

Protection items: flak jacket, gas mask, protective boots, antivolt chips: protects you better against explosions, gas grenades, slime and electric weapons, some of those items need in-game graphics

Pipebombs: graphics are made, would wait some time on the ground and produce a bigger explosion than grenades

Energycharges: increase your maximum energy, so that melee weapons and electric weapons can be used more often

Flame thrower: the weapon graphics is done, but it needs ganis, and we also need graphics and gani script for a moving flame npc

Chaingun: needs ganis, this is freezing you for some time when using it, but it let's you shoot many bullets into one direction

Sniper rifle: only shoots one bullet per time, but takes 50 hp when it hits the victim; graphics and ganis are made, this only needs an aiming script

Katana: this is special sword, just needs ganis

Energizer: automatically gives you back full energy once you reach 0

All of that would be fun for the siege type map.

It can also be fun for the capture the bases map, well if it took a little bit of time to capture the bases.

I was looking at the idea of bio-grenades and thinking. Maybe there could be a race of flesh-eating insects or something in them?

I love the ideas, very neat.

Sniper only takes 50? You should give the head, torso, and anything else specific damage regions... So people just dont shoot whatever on you they can.

Head - 1 shot kill
Torso - 50 dmg
Anything else (hands, feet, legs) - 25-40 dmg

And make sure it isn't that lame.. Sniper's are always really easy to get very pro with, and just kill any/everybody.

Unliked Doom,CounterStrike,Americas Army,Socom. Graal doesnt have a area of attack and it would be almost imposible without a lot of Scripts, And Alot of lag when theirs already peaople complaining its laggy.

I believe the Sniper Rifles are going to be changed and they work off of a random factor on what damage will be done. Then again snipers will have some cons of not knowing who is around them and having the inability to move.

It wouldn't take that much, torso , head, misc. Since the head is already it's own seperate thing, apply a 100 from snipers script to it. Not that hard. -_-;

And, unlike Doom, CounterStrike, Americas Army, Socom, and alot of others, Graal has alot of potential to be good, and to suck major ass.

But in terms of scripting, the head does not even exist. Additionally, Graal's coordinate system isn't precise enough to make an effective detection system.

Guess that makes more sense.. Well, maybe based on the range of the weapon, damage should be calculated? That would make abit more sense, no?

.33 - .50 cal bullet, lever-action rifle ?

Medkits are a need, because you cant really use medic class without medkits.

Zone needs different body armors, so something like kevlar vests and such would be good. And the body armor can determine how much damage you could take.

I like the idea of a sniper rifle but then people will just camp all over the place and kill everyone before they have a chance (they would be on the flag all the time waiting for someone to get close then blast them away)

I also thing there should be more maps, and when you press M it brings up a map of the map you are in (i think it was in old Zone also) That would be helpful to see how far you are away from a place you want to go.

Flame throwers would be good. If you got hit, you would have fire on you and take like 1 hit point away every 2-3 seconds for a while.

Other things I think would be good are:

Have the commands back.
Get the walkie talkies working (if they work they dont for me)
Get Binoculars working
Have body armor and faces and such for girls because girls go play the game
Show how much exp needed till next rank

They Should make the rader likes this

then players know were u are

and im Busy with making some different heads but its hard because I dont have any imparations

I alrdy got 1 with sun glasses meeby I make no one with 1 Silced out 1?

Not a bad idea, but maybe too complicated. If people who needed backup flashed red on your HUD, that might be cool and easier to identify.

Snipers need to take 60-75
50 isn't enough.

We seriously need to be able to slice/attack on the bikes, atleast with swords.
It would be AWESOME to go at high speeds with my Mesamasa by my side.

Fwooosh.


Also, make a Bumpmap Gmap designed for vehicle warfare.


Another thing, PLEASE make prox mines not affect teammates, I'm getting so sick of *****s walking over proxes just because they don't know any better/see it.
Never rely on the player to prevent TKing.

I put down a proximity mind and this idiot who was watching me went over and stepped on it. I was like "NO DUDE DON'T" and he was like "FU" and then actually PMed me whining about how I killed him.

yesterday I there were alot of Tkers... there must be a jail or somethign were u can put them infor 1 hour or soemthing. or they get 1 death for each tk but if someone traps on ur proxymine and uget a death for it wouldntbe nice to

Another thing that would severely kick major arse.
A map with a city in the middle, But I'm not sure if that would work, seeing as how stuff flies over walls now... Unless the buildings were NPCs.
(I keep wanting to say entities... too used to hl2 mapping)

But with the TKing thing, TKing can be a serious issue, and with the fast respawn rate when your defending, it gets really stupid after a while.

For snipers; Add mouse aim, infact, mouseaim for all weapons would own, it works really well (We did it on bravo).
More hits, more action, more death, less crap.

May be 20 seconds or so at the beginning of each round where you cannot leave your home base and must equip weapons and kevlars
Mouse aiming for Sniper would be interesting - I don't know for the other weapons though, because it would change gameplay quite a lot, what do other people think about it ?

Mouse aiming would be cool. Soldat has mouse aiming and it makes it fun cuz you can shoot in all directions. With the sniper you could probably use the mouse aiming sniper from UN script cept it does damage and the curser is smaller. And it would be cool if you would have like a walk around like a city where you can like have a training camp to train you with the guns, and like markets and stuff to buy things instead of using terminals.

I think that you should turn tiles into blockables. Like buildings for example. They should have an npc "wall" to make it more realistic.

We don't need another lame, easy to use gun. No sniper rifles unless there is a thought-out script that makes it more difficult to use.

I'm all in favor. It seems ridiculous that I can stand ten metres from a player and yet be unable to shoot him unless he's on one of four vectors. It's a big problem if I'm in a fixed location, like some sandbags or whatever. Plus it would make strafing much easier.

If mouse aiming were properly done, it would be very nice to have. What could happen is: hold the right mouse button to look. Left mouse button fires. You could move around holding the right mouse button to strafe.

I picture the sniper rifle working like this...

You equip sniper rifle, press like a button and then crosshairs appear. These crosshairs are only visible to the shooter.

Now the person is in control of the crosshair, he can not move his character around. He moves the crosshair to the target and BAM

you need to stand still for the aiming to work but it is still a little shaky

if you are moving the cursor is really shaky and almost impossible to hit


snipers cant run around and own everyone

On a game called sodat u use mouse aiming, and the trees block the bullets, sandbags block them, and there bunkers where u can shoot out of and turrets, that would be cool if this game had turrets and bunkers where u go inside and shoot out of

The only problem, is that with a scope you'll have to script the scope, and the ability to use a mouse in the scope.. Would be awesome though.
