30 Happy VIP graalians will be choosen to test Graal3d preview version

Graal3d preview will be released next week

Before releasing it, we will release a test version (Probably a version that will be a collector's item) to 30 happy VIP members, which will see the game before everyone else.

To be fair, I will receive all applications in a mailbox, and will randomly choose the 30 players.

To apply you need to be VIP and do this steps:

1) Open a account on Graal support center (yes it's repaired) , so you can open a new ticket to send bugs .
2) Send an email to this mailbox [email protected] , and give an accurate description of your computer (CPU, Graphic Card, Memory ... )

If you have been selected you will receive the link to download the game and a ticket to have 1 week free on graal3d !

Very important : You will need to have a fixed IP to connect, if we detect that you connect from a different IP, we will cancel the Graal3d preview and we are sure you have shared your account we will also BAN your account from Graal ! So be sure not to do anything illegal with this preview!

It depends on your ISP, if you have cable, chances are you do not have a static IP to some extent, if your computer is turned off or your modem is turned off for a certain period of time (a various number of hours) cable providers tend to issue you a new IP. It's safer, to be able to obtain a new IP when nessesary, but I'll tell you right now, I never turn my computers off more than 5-10 minutes unless I am deliberately changing my IP, so my cable is always moving and I always have the same IP.

So, if you are turning your computer off and you use cable, that may be why your IP is changing.

Q: How long will it be until the "winners" are notified by e-mail? Will it be later today, or sometime on Monday, for example?

Q: Will the "winners'" accounts be released to the Graalian public? If so, will it be during or after the week of play?

I really think that every VIP should be able to try it out, this seems like a foolish idea. I mean, we've been very very patient, and now only 30 people will be able to test it, meaning that everyone who has been patient will have to wait even longer?

EDIT: And how will you pick 30 random applications if we have to send you our computer information?, that means that if some people dont meet the requirements that Graal 3D takes to play, they wont be able to test it out even though they were selected as one of the random 30?

Agreed, in my honest opinion, anyone who has had VIP say, pre a certain date, or for a certain minimum length of time, should get to test. I don't think it should be open to all VIP though, and they were right to not do it that way, if they did there would be a flood of newblood VIP members just trying to play it. Which would be very stupid, considering myself and I am sure many others have maintained VIP status for a year or more.

What they want is play testers, not just players hoping to get a head start, play testing involves keeping your computer up to date, knowing what your talking about and being able to accurate describe and possibly recreate bugs you have found, so that they can attempt to troubleshoot them. I am sure there will be alot of people applying who just want to run around in 3D and spam the word "1337" and will not be helpful to the game's progress at all.

We take 30 VIP for a few days because if we take more VIP it's impossible to find bugs, but like i said previously it will be released for all VIP end of next week, so you only have to wait 1 week, not a big deal.

Also don't expect a full game, it's only a engine preview, it mean you will see town, some monsters and have a general idea of what will be Graal3d, but we have not integrated lot of content, our focus right now is to correct as mush bugs as possible, after we will focus on the gameplay.

And the Guild CP was supposed to be done by Christmas, and VIP Preview was supposed to be released early last year, and then again last month. Are the words just talk when you say that, or are you actually going to release it? I'm not going to play it.

A 3D engine is pretty hard to do.. Stefan is remaking many torque parts, so say too early when you hope have something done is pretty difficult. You always have ideas to improve something to release something better, so the date changes.. But Graal 3D is pretty cool to play, Its for now just a test of the engine, Stefan is studying cameras and other things.. But its cool walk around..its all a new way to see Graal..

How I think unix plans to pick people depends on everyoens system requirements, to see how it runs on different kinds of systems (Namely why he asked everyones pc specs) and to see what needs to be improved when it is run on a certain system. That way they can fix problems and make Graal3D run great on any type of system.

I'd much rather have a nicer, more well worked beta anyway. I don't mind the wait, I got VIP mainly for forums anyway and didn't really expect it to be done by the initial deadlines.

Meh, i hope im one of the 30, but i can wait a week i geuss if not. Also will we get exp from the test monsters or are you just purely showing what itll be like, and not letting us get exp at all?

You are stupid, it doesn't matter. It's a play testing run, not a play the game before everyone else. Even if you did get any sort of headstart, there is likely to be a large serverwipe before complete release anyways, so it will be in vain.

On top of that, even after completed release, don't be so sure there won't be problems with the character database, server crashes, and rolling back the server to previous points before the crash. There are a number of things in the beginning of a game's development that would make actually trying to play the game to make character progess a pointless endeavor.

If all you care about is playing the game, wait a while, even after it's released it may not be entirely stable. If you want to help with the game's testing and development stages, sit down, shutup, grab a drink and a notepad, and get to testing.

This is how it is:

30 people will test it all of this week, and then after this week it will be released to VIP members.

I believe thats how it will work, but the version the 30 random people will test out isnt really the full version.

Do you not read?, unixmad clearly stated that the version the 30 people will test will be a "collectors item" and will not be the full version. So, you really should read all the posts in a thread before making comments like that.

Of course it's not the full version, it is everything they have done so far, it is the engine and the core graphics and movement, therefor lacking content, which is exactly what he said. The full version will have content, I never said this would be the full version, but merely what has been completed so far to be tested. It's not a demo, it's the compiled "what we have so far for people to test". Think before you post.

Well, just like unixmad stated, this version is pretty much a Beta Test, and not the version that will be released next week. So, even if it were leaked, it wouldnt matter because i doubt anyone will be playing the "collectors item" version much anyways.

Stefan could also disable the beta version from logging on to the Graal3D Server if needed. Like he used to do if you had not upgraded your graal version.

You would get an error message like "This server requires version x.xx".
