Omy, sorry for the lateness guys. I've been having ISP troubles all weekend as well as monday and some of tuesday, coupled with not being here. Wednesday i have no excuse for, but uh, sorry o.o
Anyway, the winner this week was Gozelda. He wins 1 eventcoin since, as is tradition, 3 or more people entered
Dehitay's story: While it was a good tale, i have never come across reports that harmonian citizens are infected with the red death; after all, if the story were plausible, harmonia would be a ghost-town!
Back when Harmonia was still being founded, the original mayor had plans to sculpt a statue of Brigid in their town. They hoped this would convince the goddess of life to bless them. Unfortunately, the only sources of large enough stones were at the mining caves on an island and the mountain on which Igloo Town lies. With an inability to carry such a large stone over water, they resorted to the mountain. With the rock being on the other side of the continent, it was hard work. They asked for a bit of help, but asking for help so close to Bile's altar caused a problem. A follower of Bile heard what the boulder would be used for and warned Bile. Bile cursed the boulder with the Red Death. The workers got the boulder back to Harmonia, but all were infected by this point. The mayor thanked them, but they died shortly after. Before the scultper could chip more than a few flakes off the rock, he too was stricken with the Red Death. The boulder was considered damned and never to be touched again. A House was built close to it and the problem has been ignored since.
Zero Hour's story: Short and factual, i find this story hard to believe due to a lack of geological evidence from the surrounding town. Also, it is unlikely that a piece of the bomy moon would impact so far away from the landing site of its 'mother'.
Ah yes, the Harmonia Rock... that little dusy has been there since the Bomy moon collided with our planet. Naturally, the moon being a relatively small one it broke up, a bit, in the atmosphere - spewing pieces all over the kingdoms. Most of which landed in the ocean, but given the land, water ratio you would see it's quite likely one would land on a island, and this is a prime example of a piece. It's appearantly quite long, underneath the surface.
This concludes the explaination of the Harmonia Moon Chunk.
GoZelda's story: This week's winner, chosen both because it is the most probable theory, and because it includes a nice little explanation as to the site of the govannon altar.
This huge boulder in Bomboria is said to be placed there by a strong, small man - or perhaps a God - when the very first settlers began to explore the mainland. They immediatly saw this as a sign of the gods, and thus settled down. The rock became a place to gather for a town meeting or religious ritual, and was often used for leaders to stand on. But there was more to the rock. One day, some townsmen who had drunk a bit too much, decided they would move the rock to see what's underneath it. They did so, and found a hole in the ground. This hole seemed to be part of some tunnel, and the walls were inscripted with great pieces of craftmanship. The men followed the tunnel to the end, and emerged from the ground near the east shore of the river. They thought that the space right under the rock had to be sacred, and so they sealed of the other end with an altar to a certain God. Soon after this, the town began to prosper as they became very skilled in making all sorts of creations from metal. From this point, they were certain that the rock was placed there by Govannon, and should stand there until the end of times.
I will post the next story object next monday since er, this is supposed to be a scheduled weekly thing, despite my problems |
